Athens is a bad ass place to party

I'm 41 with 3 kids.

I just got through staining my deck this weekend. That was a wild time for me.

Truth be known, even when i was in 20's, i would have rather gone fishing for three days, seen a bluegrass show in Telluride, or some such. Crowds, clubs, & Bar hopping just never did it.

I recall the moment i knew i was old. Asheville Civic Coliseum in '11. Chilly Wind song. Unbeknownst, the kids throw water. Well, some of it landed on my wife. Had a talk with some of the kids. That was that. Never again.

athens is a pretty iconic college-radio rock town (REM, drive-by truckers, harvey milk, etc). toured there a bunch when i was younger. was indeed a fun place to party.
