Pruitt and his staff, led by Niedermeyer and inside linebackers coach
Kevin Sherrer, are among the reasons Sewell is interested in Tennessee.
“I just like how Coach Pruitt does his thing — I mean, how he interacts with the players and everything, how he kind of breaks it down so you can get it quicker instead of just being confused on and off the field,” Sewell said.
While the Volunteers have a chance at an official visit, Sewell reveals only three teams have locked themselves in for a coveted official for sure at this time.
“I’ve got Texas A&M, Oregon, and Georgia — that’s my official visits," Sewell said.
They’re just trying to know me as a person. Honestly, I like that, because I don’t want a school to come on me hard — like, ‘You can come here and play early,’ and stuff. Niedermeyer, he’s just like an uncle. He’s just someone you can goof around with, but he’s always there to take care of you and stuff when everything goes down.
That means Tennessee, Alabama, and Clemson are among the schools battling for the final two spots. It appears Bulldogs' head coach
Kirby Smart left an impression on Sewell.
“Coach Smart was different," Sewell said. "I didn’t really expect much. But because he worked under Coach Saban, I was just thinking it would be the same as Coach Saban. But he’s just a whole different guy. He’s just like a second dad.”
A commitment is not expected before the end of the summer.
“I’ll try (to decide) somewhat during midseason of my senior year," Sewell said, adding that it will come around October or November, following his five official visits.
