If you want some laughable reading, pull up the letters to the editor in the Commercial Appeal throughout this week. The idiot fringe of the respective fan bases have been tossing verbal grenades at each other all week. It reads like a debate between five year olds. I can't believe people actually sign their names to some of the comments.

Sounds incredibly funny...
There's one that appeared in Friday's edition that tops them all. A UT fan goes off on the NCAA for allowing "thugs" to play college basketball and says Memphis should be forced to make its players take the ACT before entering college. I started to email in an explain that the 'AA does exactly that, but I didn't want to ruin that nutcase's day.

Saw those "letters to the editor". I would hate to sign my real name to those moronic contirbutions to the public record!!!!!

It was even better during the Ole Miss - Tigers football week - you would think that beating the tigers was like winning a NC for the rebels these days!!!

I believe this "rivalry" has a shelf life directly proportional to how long Cal and Pearl are in their current positions. As soon as one goes, this matchup moves back to ho hum status.

I totally agree. Hopefully, if both both Calipari & Pearl continue to coach at Memphis & Tennessee, coach Cal will get over this "we don't profit anything from playing Tennessee" mentality. I think this could be a very good series if it continues to be played every year.

Isn't that the same thing we say when we talke about playing the tigers in football?
