There are usually 1-2 JUCOs each year even worth taking a shot at because the "hit rate" is so low. The grad transfer market is infinitely more productive in terms of finding an impact player. No it's not. If he can find a quality Big from the Juco ranks why not entertain the idea? Unless there is a quality Big in the transfer portal. Either way he needs to bolster the front court.

That one case is hardly a reason to support recruiting a juco as a “bad idea.” He’s also had a lot of bad transfers like Uros. That doesn’t mean Anosike won’t be a good one. It’s rare JUCO guys are ready to produce big time in Year 1, Barnes also hasn’t had much success in JUCO ranks, look at Chris Darrington. They will continue evaluating guys, be open to transfers, and also the extra year of eligibility being tossed around changes things.

One thing is for sure, the ambiguity of eligibility is never an excuse to not recruit. They had three bigs they wanted and missed on all three. They are now going way down the board to fill those positions.
