Maybe we have more out of state players vs other teams n full ride cost more for then???

I would assume this is outside of scholarship/tuition/books/board money.

Knoxville cost of living should be less than some of these cities. Weird

Edit: well it does say travel money so you may have a point but it has to be travel after on campus. So for coming in and holidays/school breaks? Probably not game related travel

This is just some random guys formula. The numbers could be skewed just about any way anyone wanted them to be..

The higher numbers reflect the schools that recruit nationallly. Incorporated in the stipend is traveling to and from school money, hence the reason Knoxville is tops. Knoxville also has the highest recruiting budget in the nation...not a coincidence.

Also UT out of state tuition has one of the nation's largest gaps between instate and out of state tuition costs.

Actually this will be a handicap for TN if the Power 5 conferences vote for an across the board stipend. If they give everyone the highest (UT's) or if they give say, a cap of $3000, then UT recruits will be getting the least value per stipend. No doubt that will used to negatively recruit against us.

There will be rules and regs out the wazoo on this thing. A stippend may be a good idea but it will have to be standardized for fairness. Otherwise this stuff will spin way out of control and dollars will get big.

Knoxville's cost of living < Gainsville. Report says were higher than pac 12's also.

Hard to take "report" seriously if so. Ever been to Cali / Wcoast? Hard to believe that.

The giant disparity in the SEC schools alone makes the collection of data look inconsistent. Basically like every other "report" put out by government institutions.

Just seen a report where UT full cost pay out is $5,666. On average everyone else isa round 3,500. Would this help in recruiting?

I dont think its about how much they actually pay. I think what the article is saying is that the cost of attendance at UT is twice the average and that there is no go solution for schools to pay COA with such a wide variance in cost.

This is 100% correct
