The reason people pick on CPF's size is that they say a correlation between his lack of self discipline in letting himself get to be so big and the lack of team discipline that he abides. Also, we are talking about athletics here. CPF's physique does not bespeak athleticism.

I'm fairly sure he was a pretty large man back in the late 90"s also, but we weren't inundated with insults toward him then.

He has gotten bigger since then but you are right he was still porlty in the 1990s. Of course, Charile Weiss also catches he!! for being overweight despite his resume and sucess this year. If you are going to base you career on athletics you should make an attempt to look like an athlete. I'd give more slack here if we were talking about someone who is a truly innovating coaching genius and happens to be overweight, but that is not the case with Phil.
