UT-UK Game Blacked Out

Knoxville media is made up of a bunch of drama mongering idiots that have done everything in their power over the past five years to make UT look bad. (Not that it needs the help)

Frankly, I'm surprised 90% of them even have a job anymore.

I'm surprised 90% of who I hear on sports radio have a job.

90% still have a job because they what they do is just status quo in this town.

Then several in the Knoxville media must be on crack since they're the ones who laughed at the attendance announced at the UT/Troy game.

I readily admit they may be on crack, but I also laugh that UK is going to have 1000 from the Knoxville area alone when they barely got 18,000 total to show up at a home game 2 weeks ago.

because it would be a hell of a lot easier to drive 1-1.5 hours to a game than it would be 3+ to go to Lexington???

Not the point; the point is the interest level, in their own hometown that has a heck of lot more Wildcat fans than Knoxville they couldn't draw 20K for a home game. UK fans have moved on to basketball.

You do realize that they don't over-report like they did in the past, correct?

Announced is much, much closer to the actual nowadays.

I'd believe they announce the sold, I don't think they announce the scanned.

Good indicator of the state of our program. Last year it was on the MeToo channel or something goofy and not even in HD.

News from the Mothership. This game is scheduled to be on the SEC network. It is Blacked-Out on ESPN Gameplan in Tennessee and Kentucky. As of now it is available on ESPN3 for live streaming. Please note it is subject to change. I will try to update if it changes.

That is all.

At least we wont have to worry about a UK fan invasion.

Was it determined for sure that this isn't the case? I'm going to change the thread title if so.

I'm pretty sure it's business as usual for an SEC Network game. I've never checked the local blackouts for Gameplan in weeks prior to this, but I can't imagine why it would be an issue for anybody in TN.

The game is listed on ESPN2 on Dish Nerwork in the Tri-Cities, not WCYB. Even though it is listed now, I suppose it could be blacked out. That happened to me for the Mizzo game when I was out of town in Central Virginia-listed, but when game started, it was blacked out even there.

Here's the list of SEC Network affiliates in TN.

Tri Cities: WCYB - NBC
Knoxville: WVLT - CBS
Chattanooga: WDSI - FOX
Nashville: WUXP - MNT
Jackson: WJKT - FOX
Memphis: WLMT - CW

Other than DirecTV not offering MNT in HD, I don't see how any provider is not going to offer the station the game is broadcast on.

I just checked WCYB and it is not listed for Saturday. Listed on ESPN2.

The game isn't blacked out in the way you are thinking. ESPN Game Plan cannot show the game to people living in an area where a local channel has bought the rights to show it as part of the SEC Network Game of the Week. Just like every other week.

Anyone in the TriCities with BVU know what channel the game is on? The guide states that WCYB is showing the bamaroid game.
