UT v. UCONN

Pearl said that Goins will focus on him but it will be a team effort.

I say if it's a late game situation if it's close to have Scotty guard him with his length and defense if he's paying attention, now I kno that's a huge if. I believe Bone can be successful against him also

if tennessee plays against uconn with a team effort rhey can beat uconn because they need to play as hard and as tough against lsu,and auburn as it was ky or uconn,if tennessee playes as hard against teams they should drub.i still think they should be doing alot better they should be 15 or 16 and 1 or 2

Scotty is slower and more prone to foul. Walker shoots FTs well. Not a good late-game formula.

I'd mix in a bit of Scotty during the game, perhaps to shake it up and throw some length at him, but I think a steady dose of Goins and Bone could neutralize Walker enough - I don't think they'll shut him down, but it could be enough to prevent him from going off.

Kemba is a 38% 3 point shooter, which is a great percentage, so we need to force him to shoot jumpers and follow Texas' defensive gameplan, because we have similiar length on the wings and should cause Kemba problems if he attacks from the perimeter. Texas held him to 8/27 from the field, which was easily his worst offensive/shooting night of th year.

On the other hand, they are a pretty solid ft shooting team and Alex Oriakhi does not shoot below 50% from the ft line, that was an incorrect statistic, he shoots over 60%. Also, UCONN's starters/team shoot over 70 percent, most over 75 percent from the free throw line, so fouling wouldn't be the smartest option, unless you are fouling Oriakhi.

I believe Cameron Tatum/McBee offensively and Goins/Williams defensively will be the key to this game. Cameron has the ability score 15-20 when needed, but he also has the ability to disappear like the UGA game. We will need him to be on and help out Scotty and Tobias offensively against UCONN. Cameron usually plays well in Big East games and national TV games.

I think we can win this game, we have a lot of depth and they will have a hard time matching up with Tobias and Scotty. Scotty will use Roscoe Smith and bring a lot more intensity than Roscoe and probably cause him foul trouble early.

Worst comes to worst let Roscoe smith have the ball in final 11 seconds we will win it for sure.

Hope you get to go to the game with it being so close to you. Great opportunity. I'll look for you on TV. Wear your coonskin hat.

I was going to get one of those orange spandex suits, but they dont sell them in a portly cut.

That would be nice. Years ago, a friend of mine used to wear an orange tux to the bowl games. At that time, no one else did anything out of the ordinary (body paint, face paint, weird attire, etc.) He was always easy to spot.

The game:
UConn will crash both boards and not get called for fouls very often. If UT tries the same UConn will be shooting a lot of FTs. They will shoot at least 1/3 more FTs than UT in CT. A lot like playing KY in Lexington. Box scores in college basketball are pretty telling most of the time. That's what the Vols need to prepare for.

I see your point, I guess what I meant was at the end of the game last possession type of deal where the refs are least likely to give a whistle, I think Scotty's length could be a problem for him getting a clean shot up. I would never try to say someone who loses his man as much as Scotty does to guard Kemba on a majority of game basis.

I Love Vitale and Bilas i dont no what ur watching, But Kemba needs to be stopped

Obviously you missed the UGA game, where Vitale blasts CBP the entire game using the dez braynt fiasco as his basis. The same week Vitale posts a blog defending current UNC and former Kansas coach Roy Williams. Vitale calls five straight years of NCAA infractions at Kansas, "honest mistakes". Nevermind that RW was fully aware his players were getting graduation gifts from a certain booster. I'm not getting into who''s infractions were worse or anything. But seriously how do you rip a coach thats building a lowly SEC school, then turn around and suck the d*%k off a coach from two of the most prestigeous basketball programs in the nation?!

One word for ya Vitale... cake eater

Not to mention.. is he even watching the games anymore? Half the time another annoucer has to interrupt his constant stream of babble, most often about teams that aren't even on the court, just to comment on the last play
