Maybe the stress of class was weighing the Vols down?

This was likely the best they looked all season even against worse teams. Good hitting, good fielding and good pitching outside the starter anyway.

Derek Lance was really impressive. Stewart's hr was a bomb!

agree, especially the relievers...of course it's probably a breath of fresh air to be pitching with a big lead, still...we hit well, other than the Maddox caught stealing, pretty flawless.

I really wish we had the pitching depth to where Q could be starting midweek games this year instead of being a weekend starter.

The 1st inning HR by ASU players was a bomb too. It made it to the grass on the other side of the parking lot behind right field.

Esparza was obviously not ready tonight and it appeared that Serrano was ready for that possibility. A short lease after 2 ERs, HR, Double, 3-walks, 0-K. The bullpen shut them down the rest of the way.

ASU is not that bad of a team. We've lost to worse this season. They were .500 and they had beat MTSU at least one time.

Vols were taking buses to Fayetteville after the game. That should inform guys who were thinking of turning pro earlier than they should how long the road trips are :). Of course the minor leagues don't have buses as nice as the ones Vols are taking.

BTW,
I wish we could have more games this time of year when it's warmer than when we're freezing in March.

The shortening of the season killed that option though.
