How crazy would it be if this played out.
- Bama wins the regular season game
-UT wins out after the bama loss and meets
Bama again in the SEC championship
where UT wins
-Both teams finish the year 12-1 and meet
again in the playoffs.

It's technically possible, which would be pretty interesting. Though I'm sure it won't happen in my lifetime.

Queue the Big Ten fans complaining that the SEC is overly favored by ESPN.

It could happen, but I doubt it will happen anytime soon. UT is still light years away from competing for titles.

I will take beating Bama in Neyland this season, watching Kiffin get fired after the game and partying all night until the Big Orange Sun comes the next morning!

But, your scenario wouldn't be too bad either!

It will take three more recruiting classes better than what the Vols signed last season including top notch defensive linemen.

Better classes than last season? I disagree. Any team consistently in the top 5 in recruiting has a shot at a NC.

I remember back when the SEC split up, people was concerned it was gonna be us and bama meeting every year in the Champ game (them damn Gators got good). also Vol fans were upset on losing the Vol / Auburn game every year. The first has never happened, and no one really cares that we don't play Auburn every year.

sorry this was really off topic, just the playing them 3 times brought back the memory

I'm sorry if I implied that this scenario would happen this year. I meant more in years to come also it could happen with any cross divisional rivals in the SEC. Just thought it was kinda cool that teams could play up to 3 times in a single year.

The SEC game loser isn't getting a rematch for the NC

1. The thing you're telling me wouldn't happen, has literally happened in the last 5 years.

2. We're talking about playoff system were they would take the top 4 teams, which would greatly increase the possibility of this happening again.

Negavol go root for Bama or Candy with Lame Kitten. You prolly think Gay Travis is funny and are a band wagon yankee.

I think it's amazing that Alabama and Tennessee have never met in the SEC championship game in all the years it's been played since 1992...

When was that?

I think he is talking about Alabama getting a title shot against LSU after LSU beat them in the regular season. Not exactly the SEC championship loser, but very close to the same thing.
