UT vs. Bama 3 times in a year?

Better classes than last season? I disagree. Any team consistently in the top 5 in recruiting has a shot at a NC.

You must have a good QB to win it. UT didn't sign a QB last class, they should sign at least one decent QB in every class. So from that standpoint, the class was incomplete.

I remember back when the SEC split up, people was concerned it was gonna be us and bama meeting every year in the Champ game (them damn Gators got good). also Vol fans were upset on losing the Vol / Auburn game every year. The first has never happened, and no one really cares that we don't play Auburn every year.

sorry this was really off topic, just the playing them 3 times brought back the memory

If you think no one cares about losing the Barn rivalry, yer jest a spring chick. You ain't old enough to have any perspektive ... much less the proper one.

Kids ... buy em books, send em off to school... they graduates then write stuff like no one cares about the rivalry between the Volunteers an them dammn War Eagle Tigers from the peanut plains.

How crazy would it be if this played out.
- Bama wins the regular season game
-UT wins out after the bama loss and meets
Bama again in the SEC championship
where UT wins
-Both teams finish the year 12-1 and meet
again in the playoffs.

a fantasy?? yeah, that would be a fantasy.. :)

Bama is on a slide I think it will happen against auburn.

Saban's way of doing things is old school.

At this point it doesn't matter what he gets

he is out as great >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

the Kiffen hire is proof of that...

As of now, the Kiffin hire only leads to two things:

1) More Vol fans will continue to bring up his name even more.

2) Few of them will learn to correct their spelling of his name. How people can continue to read and talk about a man and not spell his name right is beyond belief and ridiculous. Is it intentional at this point?

Nice pipe dream. I'd just like to beat them in the SEC championship game. Heck, I'd just like to beat anybody in the SEC championship game.

Do you mean this season or just a season? That possible scenario could apply to a couple of teams in the SEC (UF/LSU, GA/AU, UT/Bama). Interesting point with very, very slight chance of ever playing out. Stranger things.............

I remember all that talk, as well. It sure as heck looked as if the deck was stacked toward Vols-Tide championship games.

I still miss the annual Auburn game, though. Florida took the Tigers spot on the schedule, but Vols - Tigers was the traditional early-season power test in the south, back in the day.

You knew whether the Vols were contenders or pretenders, when that game finished. I miss watching Pat Dye prowl & growl along the sidelines, with Johnny Majors doing likewise, across the way.

I think it's amazing that Alabama and Tennessee have never met in the SEC championship game in all the years it's been played since 1992...

Exactly!! If your program is not good enough to meet Bama in the SEC Championship in the last 22 years what would ever make you think you would play them for a rematch for a national title?

Totally agree. This is the reason the Bama game has no precedence to continue. It is a different league now. I think LSU has a valid argument in the cross conference scheduling topic.

It will take three more recruiting classes better than what the Vols signed last season including top notch defensive linemen.

Yeah and then the '14 class would have graduated and we'll be right back to being young again, right?........ I honestly think we could possibly win the East next year. This 3-4 year crap is getting ridiculous. It'll be 3-4 years even 3-4 years down the road with some people.

1. The thing you're telling me wouldn't happen, has literally happened in the last 5 years.

2. We're talking about playoff system were they would take the top 4 teams, which would greatly increase the possibility of this happening again.

No it hasn't. It has literally NEVER happened.

It's been nine years since Alabama and Tennessee have met as ranked opponents.
