UT vs. UCONN

We could connect the team we drop with Siena. I hear on Rivals that they need opponents.

This team is good enough to go to UConn and give them a good game. We're returning our entire team, and that alone makes for a major improvement. These guys have a year together now, and often that can make all the difference in the world.

You have to keep scheduling tough games, because that's how you get on SportsCenter, that's how you get exposed, that's how you become an elite program. You have to beat the best to be the best. And personally, I love to have big games to look forward nearly every week all season long. I'm glad my team wants to have the toughest schedule in the nation every year.

I'm all for scheduling good programs, even if there's a chance we get our hat handed to us. I'd rather have that then wins against App. St.

Playing the best is a good way to see where your program is at. Playing weak teams all the time also gets you in bad/lazy habits that won't work against the top teams. I say play as many top notch teams as possible.

They're preseason #5 on the Sporting News' preseason top 25 and Purdue is #10. Kansas is #2 and Kentucky is #4.

Thought I'd add in the Rivals one as well...Rivals.com College Basketball - Rivals.com early preseason top 25

your three best players and be ranked number 5 preseason--but of course preseason rankings don't mean diddly. UConn will have some players, of course--Robinson and Walker and Dyson, to name three--but this will be a rebuilding year for the huskies. Dyson is a tough and physical guard but not exactly a natural scorer. Robinson is an extremely athletic forward who improved a lot last year--a beast on the boards but a bit erratic offensively. Walker is a very quick guard who was a frosh last year but will soon be good. It should be a competitive game--and certainly winnable. This is the year to play them!

It's official. We will play in Conn in the 2010-2011 season and then they'll travel to TBA the following season.

It's official: Vols to play UConn GoVolsXtra

So we're not playing them until after we lose our seniors? - that's just great.

That article had a link to an article about UT recruiting. In it, it was said that the maximum of 5 signees per year was still in effect. I thought that was no longer the case. And, it was great to hear that McRae is solid.

The 5/8 rule isn't in effect and hasn't been for some time.
