College Football Week 1 Predictions: Utah State Aggies vs. Tennessee Volunteers | Maddux Sports

This from a betting site, but a few interesting stats I thought, to summarize:

-Tennessee has won an astounding 19 straight home openers
-USU has lost 16 consecutive road openers (ouch)
-Tennessee has not had more than 100 k to a home opener since 2007 (I think this changes in 2014)

Overall Tennessee fans should feel confident in the outcome of this game. I think it will come down to your Wide Outs. If Worley can get them the ball, Utah State is screwed as we don't have the athletes to have a track meet with Tennessee. If it's more of a defensive struggle, things could get very interesting.

Its going to be a much tougher game than a lot of Vol fans want to admit. I think we win but it will be very close.

This is true as we've struggled against QB's that can run. I think we have a little more speed this year but most of that speed is from inexperienced freshman

Keeton is ahead of schedule per him and the coaches with the rehab. He was cleared back in April. I don't know from experience but I'm told an ACL is more of a mental thing than anything else. It's harder to trust a cut when the ligament responsible for explosive movement has been bum for six months.

Keeton is one of my favorite college QBs since he took the stage at Auburn. If we had Keeton in this offense it would be unstoppable, you got a good one there.

I would not underestimate USU's chances with Keeton at the helm. This game could go either way. I hope it goes our way but I've lived in Utah and watched this team. I'm sure we'll be coached up to not take any game for granted.

I'm on record as saying it'll be a close game. Odd to tag an opening game as a "must win", but I think it is the type of game that could propel the winner towards a big season.
