Utah trolling Florida

Honestly, Utah can't brag as much as people think. They looked pretty pedestrian against a meh Florida team. Granted, they had their backup QB in so that may explain some of it.

I feel like Utah should have scored more in the second half.

Utah played it safe on offense the second half because Florida's offense didn't scare them. They knew if they protected the ball and ran the clock that they would win.

Florida got beat down by Utah’s 3rd & 4th string QBs. I’m surprised the Gators defense was as bad as it looked.

Being without 8 of their starters will do that

It is a small stadium though. Very unimpressed. Outside of Vandy, their stadium is 10k fewer seats than the smallest stadium in the SEC. Quite pathetic for a school who owns the state of Utah and that section of the country.

Their secondary looks as bad as it did last year. Very bad news for them when they play us. They also looked very unathletic along the lines of scrimmage.

I can pretty much predict that the Florida team we play in a few weeks won't look anything like the team that played last night. Call it BVS or negavol if you want, but I never take any SEC team for granted anymore.
Playing them at home at 7pm after two games of prep…logic says they will be much better than last night…

The thing is I just don’t see the horses on their side to keep up with us…I see them being jacked up to start which will allow them to keep it close…but I think our speed and tempo will overwhelm them…and I honestly believe our D is going to stop them consistently…and probably force a few turnovers…

I’m trying my best here to take the orange glasses off…but I just don’t see this being anything but a blowout

Sure they can. They smoked UF with their 3rd string QB. If Rising would have played Utah would have beaten UF by 4-5 TDs.

The days of us worrying about UK, Missouri and Candy are over. I agree with you though UF will
Look much better against us. We have to beat them this year.

I didn’t see South Carolina having the horses to stay with us last season either. But here we are. Any SEC team on the road, especially at night, has to be respected. Go in, take control early, get the crowd out of it, and don’t give them any momentum afterwards. Do not take our foot off the gas pedal until we get all zeros on the clock at the end of the fourth.

I don’t mind Utah and their fans trolling Florida one bit. But the ones who take it a step further and think this means they could compete on any kind of meaningful way against the SEC as a whole are delusional.

I’d pretty much bet the house that CJP won’t take the foot off the gas for a second in that one

Prior to the Utes joining the PAC 12.. 6... whatever... they couldn't have cared less about football. When I lived there in the early 90s you could walk up on game day and get a seat on the 50.

Can they defend bubble screens and 5 yard out routes on 3rd and 16?

If so they’ll be fine.
Sort of related Beamer was so frustrated with Rattler on those 4th and super long downs in the red zone that everyone knew the ball needed to get to the end zone that he went to safety valves. Haha (Yes I remember 2 years ago Milton running out of bounds at end of game and not throwing it to end zone against Ole Miss)

For your guys though I gotta think Mertz will be trusted more at home than on road (IF he has time) clearly your O Line was struggling but I dont think its worse than South Carolinas. Rattler should have been sacked well into double digits. Lucky it was only 9. With our secondary struggles last year my guess is against UF &SC UT will be super aggressive with front 7 and try to abuse the O Line problems.

Beamer should have taken the FGs in the two fourth down situations late. he would have been only down 8 on his last drive with an actual chance to tie it up.
