This will be the loss that bursts our bubble when the time comes, which it always seems to do when CCM is at the helm.

Our UTEP loss is a cancer that will keep coming back. Kept us from having chances at quality wins. I don't see any other quality RPI candidates coming up. So, looking at the SEC sked of 18 games with 9 on the road, we may be in trouble. They haven't shown will on the road and a lot of the SEC foes are down in RPI anyway.

but UTEP led the University of Mexican Cartel at the half. Im telling you, UTEP is a final 4 team. Gonzo knows what he is doing.

UTEP and Xavier, too. Yeah, we avenged the loss, but the loss still counts and is hurting us.

Unfortunately , I see this team losing some more "head-scratchers" in conference play. I'm also not sold on the idea we will beat Virginia at home, either.

I worry about Tennessee's men most when they go against teams they are supposed to beat.

Yea, a loss to GA or Auburn would be a pretty big turd in a very small punch bowl.

Actually, that's sort of true. They played in one of the most famous championship games of all time.

Mediocrity is now a reality with this talented team. The best we can hope for this season is a long shot at a strong finish or just try to enjoy each game win or lose.

Just a few years ago, we were on the upswing. 21000 screaming fans at TBA. Forcing turnovers, ball hawking, fast breaking, slam dunking. Knocking off #1 teams with over achieving players. Top 5 attendance in the country. Sweet 16 and Elite 8. We've come a long way baby. The Hamilton and Cheek curse is with us in full force now.

The Utep loss was a blessing in disguise. We are a mediocre bubble team and did not want to play Iowa or Kansas.
Shooting for 2 wins in the NIT.

I think the real problem with our basketball team is the creeping apathy starting to surround the program. You just don't see the "heat", good or bad, from the fans. That could be trouble for Cuonzo. I think most of the time it's unfair to say a coach has to make the tourney to keep his job, but if he doesn't I think fan support is going to tank. That very well may be the motivating factor to send him packing.
