Waiting for the typical response of "anyone can beat anyone on a given night."

BTW Bama is playing tough against Witchita St right now. They could possibly pull out a W

Just wait for it. You'll hear that and:

"Do you know how many upsets there have been?"

"Some people just don't know basketball"

Who do you pull for in that one? We'd like Wichita State to stay up there, but we have to play Alabama twice.

More depressing considering Bruce Pearl will probably be Memphis new coach next year.

No offense, but Memphis can do much better than a coach coming fresh off of a show-cause penalty. Memphis is a better job than that, and that's not really a knock on Pearl.

Is it really though? You have to take in consideration that you will be living in Memphis.

When it's all said and done, UTEP may end up being to CCM's tenure what the UK loss was to Dooley's- only 1 loss in the record book, but much more costly in the big picture. The game where those who still supported the coach lost all confidence.

Or kind of like when Pearl lost to Indy, Charlotte, College of Charleston, and Oakland all in one year? Is that what decided his fate or was it that he got himself in trouble?

Trouble. Was that a serious question?

So why is it alright for Pearl to get beat by a D-2 team and when Martin loses to UTEP he should be fired on the spot? Because that's what our fans want. They wanted Pearl fired after that loss too but people seem to forget that...

Relax podna, gonna hurt your back w/ that knee jerk. Never said anybody should be fired- yet, just that fans have lost confidence. Do you disagree? If he misses the tourney this year, 0-3 w/ the talent he has had. What would your argument be for bringing him back? That's a serious question, I hate firing coaches as much as anyone, but how could you justify it w/ his record, paricularly when you consider how much talent we lose after this year? It certainly won't get better next year.

6 straight NCAA tourneys, first #1 ranking in program history, first Elite 8 in program history vs. 2 straight ( soon to be 3) NIT appearances. Enough said.

And still made the tournament....give it a rest.....the only negative season anyone brings up on Pearl is the yr with all the drama brought on by his stupid action.

You dont count exhibition games.....the reason is bc this is the most talented team tennessee has had in a really long time. We should be cruising to a NCAA birth and arguing about how high our seed will be.....not whether we will make it or not. Even Mark Pancreatz(sp) on the radio yesterday said he thought we might be able to do enough in conference to be in the bubble conversation again. It's very frustrating with the team we have now.

I've said it like a broken record that I will continue to support Martin unless he doesn't make the tournament this year, but I'm not going to call for his head this early into the season. Am I losing faith in him, yeah but I'm going to let the season play out. I need to make that my sig since people like to take jabs at my username.
