Don’t worry. We’ll keep the light on for you.I'm trying to be optimistic about Cam. He played on a subpar 1A team and was not voted player of the year in his division on defense or offense. Was out voted by a UVA/FSU commit and one that has not received a D1 offer. He looks the part but some work to be done. Not trying to be a downer by no means and wish nothing but the best for him
Butchna,If he doesn’t blow that knee, Marcus Dupree redefines the running back position…no doubt.
^^ this…is what you probably shouldn’t do. You aren’t David Cutcliffe, you aren’t Monte Kiffin. You aren’t a coach. Please stop with the lecturesLet me add MORE context.
You're a coach. Your job is to win games.
You have to create opportunities for success. Especially offensively in the game of football.
Can, Jaylen Wright lineup at WR and consistently produce? No.
Can Ramel Keyton line up at tailback at run down hill for 100 rushing yards a game lol??
No... but Jaylen Wright can. And Ramel Keyton and consistently line and produce at WR.
Those are guys that can consistently do the things you need them to do for those positions.
Now ...
Cam Seldon CAN lineup at WR and consistently produce eventually.
Cam Seldon CAN run downhill for 100 yards a game.
Do you bench Wright or Keith, Sampson for him?
Do you bench Leacock, Webb for him???
I'll answer those with a 3rd question-
WHY WOULD YOU NEED OR WANT TO??
In Cam Seldon you have an extraordinary skillset that allows our offense to have an inherent advantage 100 percent of the time.
You DONT take away that advantage by keyholing and starting him at one position.
No...
HERE'S WHAT YOU DO AS A GOOD COACH.
You teach him all basics of each position, in addition you'll also draw up more specific plays for him. This way he can function in the base offense and have a predetermined scale of touches per game WITHOUT a defensive coordinator ever truly being able to ever stop him. Like UGA did against Hyatt...
In other words defenses will line up thinking they can play deep but the Seldon lines up in the slot and kills you over the middle.
The defense loads the box to stop Keith on 3rd and one but WAIT! Look whos out there at HB blocking for Keith?? Seldon?? Wait he's going in motion to out wide. Safety follows him, Tennessee snaps the ball hand off to Keith ! (would have been successful) on no its a playfake! Seldon has a step on the safety! Nico throws it down the sideline!
CAUGHT!!! TO THE 20! TO THE 10!TO THE 5!
TOUCHDOWN TENNESSEE!!
" Cam Seldon was in the backfield as a lead blocker, then went in motion and ran a go route and flew past the Bama safety Downs (5 star safety) for the 60 yard TD!"
"Wow Bob! How do you even defense something like that?? Seldon just uses his 4.3 speed to just outrun a future NFL safety. I mean geez. Look at them celebrating down there..."
You all can keep playing Legos (not even checkers). I'll keep teaching chess until you all catch on...or not

How is it possible that you do not understand. . . just because you start at one position doesn't mean you can't play others during the game.Let me add MORE context.

I remember Metcalf! Cardiac Cards with Jim Hart, Mel Gray. Loved that team as a kid..Butchna,
Nice example.
I'll give you another one. From 1989-2002, one of the most underrated players in NFL history did exactly what people are saying is a "new trend". We know about CP, Deebo Samuel, Ty Montgomery and Percy Harvin when healthy. Lining up all over the field creating mismatches.
Eric Metcalf was doing this before those guys were in pop warner!
Metcalf had:
- 5,500 NFL receiving yards 31 TDs.
- 2,700 NFL rushing yards 12 TDs
- 3,000 NFL return yards 10 TDs
NOW....can ANYONE tell me how many seasons he was a STARTER and what POSITION he was the starter at?????
Cam Seldon doesn't NEED to settle into any "position ". All he needs to do is catch, run, and block like anyone else on the field.
And he'll get paid millions doing just that one day.
Yeah<<<< WE'LL SEE>>>> who's right about what I said before! About what COMPLIMENTS i made towards him before.
