His players love him. Everywhere he has went. Remember when Dooley talk trashed to Vandy after they beat them? Then the very next season Vandy WALKED US 41-17? James Franklin could have threw mud back at him. But he didn't.

Did Franklin keeps things hidden? Maybe. Maybe not. He's still freely doing his job.

Tennessee also has a good HC. Who has nothing but positive things to put out. That;s what fans need to focus on and emulate.

I respect Franklin. But don't over estimate what he did at Vandy. In his last season there he was 9-4. His only two wins vs teams with a winning record were UGA 8-5 and Houston in their bowl game. UT was 5-7 that year... UF 4-8, UK 2-10. The previous year he beat another historically bad UT team and OM 7-6 and NCSU 7-6. He was beaten by the other 4 teams that finished with a winning record.

I agree this was the mountain top for Vandy football... but it was also a unique set of circumstances when he landed some weak schedules and caught other teams down.

This is why I didn't try to engage in a back and forth with you earlier @Volsdeep4 . I know that what you were saying earlier was coming from a good place. I'm a Vol fan that considers all other Vol fans my family. As family we may not always agree, but it's still all love. Excellent post by the way.

I appreciate that man. I didn’t really understand the hate at first. I sat back and came back to the conversation and understood what you guys were saying.

That's fair. Definitely valid regarding how weak the east was. Weakest it's ever been probably.

But the majority of that post was pointed towards another issue. That's now since been squashed.

Years ago my daughter used to pick on her youngest brother all the time, but she put her new step brother's head through a wall for doing it..

This sums up my feelings to other Vol fans in general.. I can pick on them, but if a rival fan does it, he's probably going to end up fighting both of us..

For me...it's just ok, for him it's hard to tell because he shows little emotion. That's why in that interview people were expecting him be overly excited or not but he has and has had the same emotion for all the visits. I feel Tennessee has the edge, but again that's me and my thoughts, I could be totally wrong
