I think most people haven't realized just how good Seldon is or how big this commitment is.
He could legitimately be the best skill position player in the entire class.

That works. But you can also go from a legit 4 receiver set to a legit 5 receiver set without changing personnel or slowing down. The opposing DC's nightmare just got much worse.

It would probably be quicker to list what Cameron Seldon might not do for Tennessee. He is a true all-purpose threat that will return kicks, play multiple positions as a receiver and also line up in the backfield. The Vols will use him similar to how the San Francisco 49ers used Deebo Samuel last fall. They will facilitate multiple touches during games as he is an electric playmaker. Seldon's size, speed and ability to change directions is an uncanny combination that will make him a nightmare for opposing defenses to try and scheme around.

Impact Rating: 9.5 of 10
This is a true difference-maker for Tennessee's offense. This is a playmaker that will keep SEC defensive coordinators up at night. Seldon is as big as some linebackers but is faster. He can bully smaller defensive backs while being just as fast. He will still require refinement as a player, but his sheer athleticism should allow him early opportunities in Josh Heupel's offense. If the Vols can get him in space, watch out. This is a big recruiting win for Tennessee to be able to pair another potentially elite talent with Nico Iamaleava and Ethan Davis in this class.

We may or may not win the East with Heupel as head coach. Who knows. But, one thing is for certain, we’re going to at the very least score 60 points a game stacking weapons like Seldon every year and have a hell of a lot of fun with this offense. Can’t wait to watch.

Finally an offensive weapon to compliment our 5 star QB.

Has he not factored into our 247 Composite rankings yet? Surprising to see us still sitting outside the Top 10 after landing him.

We're 11th with him...and a measly 2 points from being 9th so it's really a moot point. Well...just about any ranking this far out doesn't hold a ton of value.

Let's add Sham, Osborne(?), Simmons(?), and Bradley(!!) and then we'll have a better idea heading into the fall and transfer season.

The lack of a 25 hard cap is going to make things really wild. This is going to be a really tough year to predict. Some schools may take 20 recruits and another 15 transfers or 30 recruits and another 10 transfers for a monster class. Hard to know without understanding every team's 85 situation.


...of course it's worth noting the way the algorithm works, the top 15-20 players mean a lot more. Adding 10 more low 3 stars won't budge you nearly at all.
