Their class seems to be similar to the Butch 2014 (iirc?) class where it just so happened that there are a ton of highly ranked instate targets. It would be huge failure for them to NOT be where they are currently. They may have a highly ranked class this cycle like we did but it won't be because of anything other than an up cycle on prospects within their state.
They are getting officials from a couple of five stars. Which to me signals that they're handing out Lambo's, dimebags, 21 yo., and a bag of cash. Else how can you explain anyone knowingly or willingly wanting to live in that dump, and wanting to play football in the off campus hall of mirrors?2023 there were 5 players 4* or better in SC (and they landed 4/5).
2024 there are 6. They’ve landed 4.
Wouldn’t say it’s all bc of in-state recruiting - they have 2 top 140 players from Georgia committed and 2 other 4* (Maryland and Connecticut).
But there is still a ton of room in their class and I doubt it’ll be filled with the quality they have committed so far.
Beamer has the makings of being Botch Version 2.0. Will be interesting and a lot of fun to watch his meltdowns during the games and press conferences.
Beamer doesn’t seem to be a complete jerk like Jones was. Beamer definitely says/does some cringe worthy things which might compare somewhat to Jones. Beamer just seems to be a bit in over his head like Dooley was for us. Jones is the worst person and coach we’ve had at UT IMO.Beamer has the makings of being Botch Version 2.0. Because he coaches at a rival school and their fans are annoying so **** 'em imoWhy are so many of our fans concerned with Beamer? He does seem to have his program pointed in the right direction with catching fire at the end of the season. We can not dispute that as he won against us and Clemson. Can he maintain that or will he be the next Butch Jones? Time will tell but what I have noticed is he is building his program around the offensive and defensive lines, which is solid coaching. He just got lucky in getting an arm for a QB.
This board has made fun of coaches before that ended up eating our lunch and it appears that things are not changing. We need not worry as much about other programs as we should our own. We obviously are headed in the right direction and need to pour on the steam to keep the momentum.
