I went to the UT/Vanderbilt game at Memorial last season (it was my first time going to a game there), and aside from the fact that we lost, it was a pretty crappy experience. The woman next to me kept going on about how "the kids that go to UT are just too stupid to go to Vanderbilt" and how "their whole student body couldn't collectively score a 26 on the ACT." I didn't feel like arguing with her, but she wasn't exactly the brightest bulb herself, so my guess is that (maybe) one of her kids managed to get into Vanderbilt, and by proxy she thinks that makes her intelligent. It was ridiculous and entertaining at the same time.
Also, I wasn't impressed with Memorial. It felt like an overgrown high school gym. I think the SEC should require Vanderbilt to do away with the weird baseline bench setup - it gives them an advantage that they don't deserve. As evidence, I feel like a normal season involves us killing them in Knoxville, only to lose a close game at Memorial. Take away their stupid court setup and they'll suck the whole time.
