even at 8-4 --- They are a boring team to watch and I dont think their students would travel anywhere but to mom and dads for holidays --- cant see anyone wanting them except the Music City Bowl

I don't see MCB wanting them. They can't half fill that high school stadium on West End and the MCB wants to bring in teams that will fill hotel rooms as well as LP Field.

Exactly -- Vandy the 8-4 team nobody wants

They went to the Music City Bowl last year; they're expected this season to end up in the Liberty Bowl while Ole Miss ends up in the Music City Bowl.

Vandy thinks they're getting the Gator Bowl. Why on Earth would the Gator Bowl pick them when their fans won't even travel to Vandy's home games?

No way they bring Vandy down here.

Gator will get either Texas A&M or UGA - whoever Chick-Fil-A doesn't pick.

BCS - Bama and SEC Champion
Capital One - SEC runner-up
Outback - South Carolina
Cotton - LSU
Chick-Fil-A - UGA
Gator - TAMU
MCB - Vandy; they actually do show up when they play in this game.
Liberty - Miss. State
Ole Miss to either Compass or Independence (whoever gets to pick first this year).
One SEC bowl gets no SEC team.

Vandy reaching their full potential still only brings them a rotation of Music City and Liberty Bowls.

Have no idea why a recruit would go there or why Franklin would stay. Guess they are paying him very well.

Memphis if they are lucky. Birmingham if the Liberty Bowl gets its way.

I think the MCB will take Ole Miss. Bigger fan base, will come closer to selling out the bowl

Generally (generally, not always) SEC championship game loser falls past the capital one bowl.

It's almost like they use the additional loss and new ranking to recalculate your standing within the conference (like in this case, the loser now becomes a lower ranked 2 loss team)

Also, Missouri's not terribly a large draw. An SEC Championship loss and they probably far as the Outback bowl…maybe even cotton/chick-fil-a since there would then only be a 1-loss difference between them and LSU

This thread really pissed me off. Debating on where the red headed step child is going when the Prom King has to stay home.

The SECCG loser cannot fall past the Capital One unless they have two more losses than the next team in selection order. So in this case a 2 loss Auburn/Missouri team has to go to the Capital One

I thought it was that the Capital One Bowl is contractually obligated to select the winningest Big Ten and SEC teams that do not make a BCS game, or a team within one win of the winningest in its conference?

Wouldn't - if Missouri were to lose to Auburn - that put a 10-2, possibly higher-ranked South Carolina as an equal possibility of selection with an 11-2 Missouri?

The two MCBs Vandy has played in had about 55,000 fans each. And, that was with BC and NCSU for opponents. So, it seems that Vandy sells more tickets for the MSB than their home games. Liberty is the only other possibility, IMO. The SEC wants all of its bowls to do well, so they're going to want to keep Vandy in TN.
