Vanderbilt Has Slammed on The Brakes For Football Activities

I don't think a decision by Vandy to not "play" sports this fall/early winter will have much effect on the rest of the SEC. I just wonder if the rest of the SEC schools will sit still for Vandy getting a share of the league revenue. I would hope not!!!

Vandy doesn’t care about the league revenue. Trust me on this one.

High schools found a way to play football this past Friday, it appears they'll go through a full season. The NFL is going to play come hell or high water. And we still have people carping about college football will not find a way to play this season? GMAFB

We are on a one game win streak. Stating the UT/Vandy order is restored is a bit premature even thought it may turn out to be that way.

Nah ... order has been restored.

UT and little brother aren't on the same trajectory. We are running off and leaving them.
Better coaching. Better players. Just better.

They had their fun, but last year we put them in their place.
Stop letting the Butch years stain things ... live in the present.

The absolute most liberal school in the SEC, (and that's saying a lot!). Over the last 5 years their commitment to big time athletics has eroded piece by piece.

How’d Vandy meet SEC criteria to begin with? We just as soon have Rutgers in this conference. Unbelievable.

Its 2020. Anything is possible.

Here in South Louisiana we’re staring down the barrel at back-to-back hurricanes. What a way to cap off the year, save 4 months. I am totally waiting for the California wildfires to make their way to our region as the proverbial “cherry on top”. This year has been a disaster on many levels. Not to mention the election in November.

We don't want Rutgers, that would mean additional TV revenue from NJ/NE. SEC already makes too much money, what would they do with the additional funds?

Order has been restored in that (not a rivalry) series.
We have put them in their rightful place, and are trending upwards, as they spiral downward.
Again I say, order has been restored.
About time.
5-5 over the last 10 games.
The General (defensive guru) was hired to beat Vandy.
Maybe that is why CJP(defensive guru) was hired.
ADPF coached at Vandy for a short time, not sure he ever got the stink off.

They should join the Ohio Valley conference. They will be toast if they chose to not participate. That would be great.

Trust me on this, I have been living in Nashville for well over 50 years,
the current administration at Vanderbilt will do whatever is the most "politically correct". Its their focus these days.

Vandy is in a pickle, just as we'll be when our players get sick. Sure, call them "scared" and other names, but that simply ignores the reality that there's inherent danger in playing this Fall. Myocarditis has already occurred in 10 Big10 football players.

In a small number of cases, Myocarditis may persist and become chronic or long lasting. Chronic myocarditis is associated with dilated cardiomyopathy and may lead to heart failure and other serious complications. Treatment may involve long-term use of steroid medication or a heart transplant operation.

We already have players like Trey Smith that have a serious, pre-existing, and potentially life-threatening condition.

As the SEC has already publicly stated:

"There are going to be outbreaks," an SEC official told players during the call. "We're going to have positive cases on every single team in the SEC. That's a given. And we can't prevent it."

Thus, aside from the obvious concerns that nobody wants these kids to get the virus or have any long-term effects from it, I suspect there is substantial legal risk to U. of Tennessee and any school that opts to play. Administrators know that football players are likely going to get the virus and that it may cause Myocarditis. I also understand that virtually everyone wants life to continue on as normal with football, and that some even think the virus is a 'hoax', but my point is that the decision-making process is riddled with real risk and financial liability to each school, even Vanderbilt.
You do realize that Myocarditis can be cause by ANY viral infection. Strep Throat, Flu and among other viral infections can cause it to. But why is it we only hear of it now when people get the flu and other viral infections every year and 1,000’s get Myocarditis a year but all of sudden it’s caused my Covid and everyone is worried. What was everyone saying about Myocarditis 5 years ago? This did not just come around this year!

What's the quarentine period anyway for Covid? Season doesn't start until the 26th. I think the afflicted will be past that by then. Vandy is the whipping post of the SEC and has been for years. I guess every conference has one. I really question why they are still in the SEC

Beginning to look like our state university is rushing to catch up. Have you been on or around the hill in the last few years. Took a grandchild to orientation a few year back, a real eye opener. Had been on the campus a few times prior to that trip and had notice a change in the social environment but ignored it telling myself it just the hangers on from the 60-70 life style. I was wrong, it is the facility/leadership graduates from the 60-70 and beyond leading the change starting with high schools the to colleges influencing the younger generation in the Kumbaya movement.

Yep, the Socialist Indoctrination Plan has yielded the desired results. It is no longer the good old Usa. I don't know What The Hell it is; but the Terrorism we are seeing in our Cities being tolerated by the Authorities is Proof Positive that the Marxists are winning.

No, Vandy like everyone else LIKES revenue. Their sports program, like all sports programs needs to generate moneys. Do you for one minute think the blue blood liberals that graduate from Vandy and send their youngsters down their path to the good life would stand for a goodly portion of their very high tuition to fund sports?!? I think not.
