Vanderbilt @ Tennessee game thread

I would like to apologize to the basketvols for all the bad things I said earlier today about them. But why can't you just put out that same effort you put out in the 2nd half for the whole game. Why? My blood pressure and heart would be in much better shape and also I wouldn't break so many remote controls. Why? Why? Why?

Speaking of awesome comebacks, former Tennessee victim Villanova is now on a 15-0 run to take a 3 point lead on Maryland.

Apologies for this being late; here are some observations:

1) Great win for the Vols over a very worthy Vanderbilt team. Atmosphere was incredible, and they gave the national College Gameday audience their money's worth. This has to provide a real confidence boost.

2) Despite the win, the Vols still have a lot of work to do in terms of timely shooting, rebounding, defense, and playing together. Defense needs to step up and play lights out in order to get more impressive quality wins. Also, the Bruce Pearl factor needs to come into play; the team needs to play for their coach.

3) Great job by Tony Jones to hold down the fort while Bruce is away. Also liked the orange blazer he sported on the bench. :) In my opinion, though, he needs to coach like Tony Jones, and not like Bruce. I understand that Bruce has had a great influence on Tony, but he's no Bruce. Just my opinion, though.

4) Georgia is no pushover. Vols need to step up the intensity in Athens and play hard and play smart. Scotty, Brian, Tobias, and John Fields off the bench need big games, and Cameron needs to be sharp from long range.

5) Pat Summitt is awesome. No greater way to close out the day than with a Lady Vol win.

6) In your face, George Plaster.
