I like it but, if you want to cook the books a little in order to paint the least flattering picture possible for Vandy, please take a look at these comparisons: 1869-1925 (i.e. before Neyland came to Tennessee and the apex of Vandy's program during the first quarter of the nineteenth century): I-A Winning Percentage 1869-1925. You will note that Vandy actually was 9th nationally in terms of winning pct.
Now, if you look at the period from 1926-present, the picture becomes far more favorable to our cause and profoundly embarrasing to Vandy's: I-A Winning Percentage 1926-2012. Tennessee is third nationally in terms of wins for that period, trailing only Oklahoma and Alabama, and 7th in winning pct. (6th if you discount Boise State's short-lived status as a Division 1-A program. Vandy comes in at a very chilly 101st (out of 110 teams) in winning pct. and has 365 wins compared to 669 for Tennessee.
That really puts thing into perspective, given the fact that Vandy's greatest success was before the SEC had even been formed and much of it even predates the formation of the old Southern Conference to which we belonged before the advent of the SEC.
And keep in mind that candy has been in the SEC since 1933 & has a grand total of ZERO SEC Championships!
