Vandy beats UGA (Merged)

LG, how nervous are you about the game tonite, and what's your pick for final score?

EXTREMELY worried about it, but Florida has a good all around team and just seems to be getting breaks and doing things with them. Its an intangible, but it matters.

Extremely worried... and predicts a 14 point victory.

Those cocky Gator fans. God love'em.

Gators will win but it'll be late. Probably a last second alley oop from Tebow to Baker.

hey, does anybody have the link to a good UGA board...kinda wanted to sit in on a little of the pity-party...:naughty:

Anybody know the location of the official "Fire Coach Richt" website?

Just perusing the Dawgs chat lines almost gives one radiation sickness. As all of you know who have been there, there is almost a total meltdown on those sites. I've been to Sanford Stadium when Tennessee won as well as when they lost and have been subjected to the rude, abusive fans inside and outside the stadium on more than one occasion. Even when the Vols won in '98, I've never heard such obnoxiousness as we walked back past "fraternity row" or whatever its called on our way to our car. As someone said earlier, you just don't make eye contact with the loudmouths. So, I really must admit that it's rather nice to see how a humiliating loss to the Vols and now the Commodores serves as the ultimate humbling experience for such arrogance. Perhaps all fans should remember that the "good times" don't last forever and neither do the "bad times". It's only when one assumes that the "good" will always be the rule that he/she tends to get arrogant and sets himself/herself up for such meltdowns.

That said, the Vols need to forget about everyone else and concentrate on winning out this year; then everything will take care of itself. (But I'm still enjoying the meltdown!!!!!)

i agree with your assessment of GA fans...worst i've seen....after they beat us in athens (in 99?), female GA fans were spitting on every tennessee fan that walked by. i swear i'm not making this up.

Before we get carried away in branding the UGA fans the worst, let us not forget the urine bottle-throwing, in your face, a-hole Gators.

urine bottle throwing worse than georgia, i have had friends pissed on in sanford stadium, in their seats no less. not had piss thrown at them, but been pissed on. my friends mom had a souvenier cup full of dipspit poured on her. and yes the girls will spit on anything orange. gator fans have loudmouths, but no where near the sheer disrespect for humanity that georgia fans have. they are by far the worst in the nation. i hope the meltdown continues, they miss a bowl game, and the state has to put the entire town of athens under marshal law/suicide watch.

They are becoming more and more familiar with a broken nose and a hobnailed boot and it couldn't happen to a more deserving bunch of people.

Who caught the ESPN "Hobnailed boot" comment? Nice. Trouble in little-Athens, my friends. Trouble.

Like GAVol said, reminds me of another recent, underperforming 5-6 team from a year ago.

Oh, and I had dipspit thrown on me at the game last weekend, too.

But we still played and sang Rocky Top 438,521 times.

I caught the hobnailed boot comment. That sounded pretty cool.

It was 438,522. Just checked.

I made a post in the pre-season saying how eirily familiar UGA's QB situation was to ours last year and how familiar Richt's rotation system sounded. I will add to that the quotes from Richt after losing games sounds just like Fulmer did last year.

One UGA blogger said the parallels to UT last year are uncanny and said that if Richt wanted to follow UT's path with all of the problems, that he better be ready to fire some people after this season.

The fans are deserting the ship very fast after this last loss. No more can they rag us about losing to a Vandy team that was much better than this one this year. To have two TN teams come down to Athens two weeks in a row and beat UGA in the second half in their own stadium is demoralizing at best.

As one blog put it, the honeymoon is over with Richt. He has the ability to recover but how fast and how broad is still up in the air. Bobo needs to be fired and Richt needs a good OC. Martinez was rumored to be the real genius on Defense when VanGorder left but we see both failing without each other to lean against. The flags are coming down faster and faster here in the Athens metro area....

The funny thing is that the UT loss was late at night and many woke up the next morning hoping it was all a dream. The Vandy loss was witnessed with more sobriety than last week. There was no doubt how bad this team has become. Nothing better than being sober watching your team lose to Vandy and SEC ambitions tanking.

They really are. There has always been a slight undercurrent of fans who think Richt needs to give up calling the plays and that maybe he's not the best at game management, but in the last month, the heat has definitely been turned up.

I read last night where someone said "Richt's honeymoon is over". Sort of a dumb thing to say about a guy whose "honeymoon" period has included multiple SEC championships including last year.
