Vandy coach comments on UT fan support

You mean by complimenting the crowd at Tennessee. What he said was the exact opposite of Mainieri and O’Sullivan said. Corbin said he enjoyed seeing people at the ballpark having a good time and being loud. I don’t understand how that’s so controversial. He even stopped his players from getting mouthy during the games. He let’s them have fun but instantly stopped anything that was disrespectful.

My comment was more of a question after reading previous comments. Also, if someone is a "piece of work" it can mean a lot of different things. It's not even 8:30 where I am, take it easy fella. Let me have my coffee and we'll revisit.

I answered your question. The thread title was changed and it originally made it sound as if Corbin was griping about the crowd. What he said was that Covid doesn’t seem to be an issue in Knoxville meaning in Nashville the Mayor has the city on complete lockdown. The rest he said was he enjoyed playing in a loud fun atmosphere with fans having fun.

If a top flight managerial position opened up in MLB and they called Corbin, that would be hard to turn down and that would probably be the only reason that he would leave Vanderbilt.

personally speaking from what little knowledge I have, I doubt he ever leaves Vanderbilt. Even if MLB came calling, at 60 years old, he's got a number of good years left at Vanderbilt and he's got a machine humming on all cylinders when it comes to recruiting. Also, all MLB managers get hired so they can be fired......Corbin would never get fired from Vanderbilt unless a scandal with an intern happened, and I doubt that ever would.

Corbin has stated this is his final job and he and his wife love Nashville. He’s already turned down LSU, Texas, and the Red Sox. I doubt there is a better job out there than Vanderbilt. There is zero chance of him getting fired he is one of only 5 active coaches in major men’s sports (Baseball, Basketball, Football) with multiple National Championships. Take a shot of Jack for anyone that came name all of them.

Saban, Jay Wright, Dabo, Coach K

Edit: didn't realize there were so few

Tim must not get out in Nashville much. Last Sat night, my wife and I drove down Division St (near Vandy campus) going to dinner and hundreds of young adults were standing in line to get in the bars along Division. About 5 masks were worn in the entire block

You would be correct. Coach Corbin does not cruise nor stand in line to get in the clubs on division Street. Good call on your part!
