Looks like plenty of tix available but i have never been in that gym. I understand it's not the best, but are there sections to absolutely stay away from? What section(s) is their student section?

Wife and I are thinking about going. What's the best way to buy tickets?

I don’t know that there are any areas to stay away from. They put the visitors behind the goal on the third tier. It’s really not any different than sitting behind the goals anywhere else.

A lot of people don’t like the gym because it is different. The floor is elevated and the goals are the ends of the court instead of the sides; which is weird. It’s kind of dark and ugly as well. However, I kind of like it. It has character. It is more of an old-school basketball gym instead of a huge arena.

The bathrooms and concourses suck. They were not designed for crowds.

Some of the views on the 3rd level aren't great and dont like attending games up there unless those are the only seats available. I have been to a good 30 plus games their being born and raised in Nashville. And the majority of those games I get told to sit down by Vandy fans when I am their wearing orange. A few times being told I was an a sshole for just standing and cheering for my team. Especially when Vandy has a good team and the place is full. Just something to know ahead of attending a game there.

vucommodores.com still had plenty of tickets left as of last week - they were all 3rd level end zone seats. Their students occupy the first level in sections G-K, but not the entire level - just part. That entire side of the gym are wooden bleacher seats. The opposite side of the court, sections A-E from first level through 3rd level are all chairback seating. The first level of end zone seats on both ends are also chairback. I love Memorial Gym - it's a great place to experience a game.

When Memorial Gym is a sellout it's a really great atmosphere, I will give credit for that. Really loud too. I've had a lot fun when UT men and Vandy play when it's packed. Even with the snobby Vandy fans.

Quite possibly the worst facility to watch a game in. It just feels weird. Feels like it should be a performing arts theater or something. Everything is weird about them over there though

Just seen that after the Vandy game on the road that 4 out of 5 of our next games are at home.
Albeit they are all some tough teams coming up, we have a lot better chance of beating said tough teams at home. Hopefully Broome will still be out when we play at the barn.

Tennessee has a chance to be in a really nice spot at the halfway point of the SEC season if we can hold serve at home.

Have attended several games in Memorial "Gym" (better known as West End Nightmare). At all cost, avoid seats in 3rd tier behind either basket. You might as well be watching from Pluto.

Did you mean to say the team benches are at the end of the courts. Because that is one of the weirdest parts of the arena. I seem to recall they have recently allowed the coaches to finally walk along the sides in a coaches box, like every other court now, but I may be giving them too much credit!

I think the goals would have to be located at the end on every court?

It can be a maze to navigate the halls to your seat. I'm not sure what it was originally designed for.
Besides the dozen or so basketball games I've seen in there, I've also seen a couple of great freaking concerts there. Simple Minds back in 1986 and My Morning Jacket in 2012. You definitely need to pay attention to where you are going for seating

Do they even hold concerts there anymore? I think I recall several years ago (within the last 10 years) the university holding some big concert events but I think they were outdoors.

Well, it's been a dozen years since I saw one in there. U2 played at Dudley around then too, but I passed on that one
