Vandy hilarity

I had no idea.

I’m much happier to get the win than to bust their streak.

It was kind of absurd watching their fans booing dunks and layups because they weren’t three pt attempts. They were more worked up about a streak than they were that they were getting spanked at home by Tennessee.

FLASH FLASH FLASH

Vandy has a go fund me petition to review the 3 pt shot after the clock expired to see if it counts!

Where did you find Dr. Shock and Dingbat? They were a Chattanooga Saturday night mainstay in the 70s

That's the best part. To them an inconsequential streak means more than getting whooped at home by their hated enemy. Odd priorities.

They have a far more impressive streak still alive. Something like 23 games in a row. Anchor Down!

Edit: I see in an other post ( A worse stat for vandy ) that Vandy is now tied for 2nd with Bama at 22 for most consecutive SEC loses and Sewanee currently owns the record at 24.

That was the point of my original post on the subject.

On the flip side, I think it’s odd that some people are more excited about busting this streak (which had very little to do with our defense) than getting the win.

Some people expect to beat Vanderbilt.

I thought the more impressive stat is that we only had one 3 the entire game and still won by 21. Seems almost impossible in today’s basketball. But then again, Vandy is straight garbage.

Anyone who has watched SEC basketball knows about the streak. It's mentioned almost every Vandy game. I found out about it when I became a die hard bball fan in 2007.

If you’ve ever had the misfortune of listening to Joe Fisher on the Vandy network, I’m pretty sure he mentioned it every 5 minutes for the past 25 years or however long he’s done play by play for them.

I’ve been watching SEC basketball since I was in school at UT and I didn’t know about it. I suppose I’m in the minority.

I still don’t understand the elation and despair on both sides. Doesn’t seem like a big deal to me.

It’s one of the few things Vandy sports could point to as a record. They mention it every basketball they have played since the early 1990s. It’s just cherry on the top of a great win
