Vandy? What is the goal?

If your Vandy why dont you look at moving somewhere where you can win football games and get out of the SEC where you are not going to be competitive? They are a great higher learning school. Why not try to go to the IVY league or maybe the MAC or SunBelt?

They aren’t an Ivy League school. They make a lot of money in the SEC. They’re competitive in quite a few other sports. They make a lot of money being in the SEC. The SEC likes flaunting Vandy’s academics. They make a lot of money in the SEC.

Exactly. Vandy makes too much money. The SEC gets a bottom feeder/academic power. Works for everyone.

I think the more legitimate question is how long does the SEC want to keep Vandy. These spots in these super conferences are very valuable. Vandy contributes basically nothing to the overall value.

Forever. Vandy has great rivalries with Tenn, Kentucky, Florida, Ga, ole Miss, Miss St, LSU, Texas A&M, Texas, OU…..get the picture?

1. They dont really care about football. Or any sport really. So it doesnt matter if they are bad.
2. They are IVY league wanna be's and enjoy lording their status over the rest of us.
3. Tradition, goes back to 2, being a founding school of the SEC adds to their perceived clout in the country clubs.

They're the premiere baseball school in the country. I mean you can be dumb, just don't be totally dumb.

They use football to fund all of their other sports fully. They are an original member of the SEC, difficult to get rid of them. I thunk they are very satisfied.

Lol, call me dumb and you have to twist what I say and still miss the argument.

Vandy wouldnt care if they were bad in baseball and bowling too. They dont have fans. They have alumni.

They gain everything they want out of the SEC just by being in it.

As much as I can be footballcentric, there is more to SEC athletics than football, and Vandy isn’t terrible at all of those other sports. Plus they make lots of money here and bring all our average academics up.

They did $12 million in upgrades to their baseball facilities just a few years ago. Yea. They don’t care

Imagine going on a recruiting visit. Yeah we schedule some weak out of conference games here so we can get to 4 or 5 wins. Our goal here is to pretend to play football and be academic scholars. We will celebrate our math skills and compete in math puzzles while drankin coffee at the trendy spots in Nashville! Anchor Down

The contribute a (normally) easy conference win. Lots of value in that.

Them being in the SEC doesn't hurt anything or reduce the amount of eyeballs watching SEC sports.

Why would you go to Vanderbilt when for the same money you can go to Ivy League Schools Cornell,Dartmouth or Brown?

Never knew that was how a business was run. We have the same numbers we had last year, great!

The spots are valuable , that is why Texas and OU got them.
