Through two games we have seen everything we have to offer.....WOW! With all the talent we have in place, I bet you we haven't seen but a 3rd of the playbook....if that! Saturday night will tell a hell of a lot about our O and D and especially special teams...GBO!!!

For all the hype about Hurd during his recruitment and spring/fall camp, I guess I just expected him to be more explosive and....well....dominant. Especially against these first two mid major teams. However even when Hurd's been able to break through past the line of scrimmage, opposing defenders have had no problem whatsoever bringing him down. I understand he's a true freshman but so was Gurley and Lattimore and they made huge impacts their freshmen seasons. I guess my expectations were too unrealistic but I honestly thought Hurd was on their level talent-wise based on all the hype. So far I'm just not seeing it.

I have seen his talent and potential . I have also seen a freshman running back that is adjusting to the game behind a brand spanking new offensive line . FWIW , I think the O line and Hurd will improve as the season progresses.

As far as the play book goes ...I think we have seen much of it . I think the part that will change as the O line becomes more proficient is the route depths. This is a layered West Coast top to bottom progression passing game. The routes are very shallow at this point. This is a coaching attempt to mitigate issues with the O line ...while still running their spread form . The top layer routes will get deeper when the O line can be trusted to hold the line .

It would not shock me to see a little more 'max protect ' type of formations in Norman ...trying to take the defense from inside to outside and play the individual matchups more . Just a guess

That's just the way vol fans r and they will never change and that's the way it will always be Tennessee could win the National championship and still be mad about something we have improved tremendously this yr already we r way ahead than I figured we would be shut up and enjoy the growth of these young players

I don't think you run a vanilla offense when the same offense was used last year by the same coaches and team. I'm sure in this day and age there might be a few recording out there... :)

Was Bajakian not the OC last year?

They even said last year that they could not implement the entire offense. They've implemented more but not all of it. So you are wrong. We have not seen the entire offensive play book. They may look the same to you, but I guarantee you that they are different formations, blocking assignments, personnel groupings, options, check downs. But if your simple negative mind think we've seen it all, then I guess we have.
Our offense is not like madden, and fits on a few pages.

It'll all come out Saturday(hopefully)...look for more wrinkles in the run game to boost yardage and hopefully we can complete a deep ball or two.
