I think this is legit. I apologize if it’s been posted before, but I could not find it anywhere. I did try before posting…

Supposedly, he called CTV and apologized.

Why do we care about any of it? Genuine question. I wondered at the time what made him so mad but I honestly don’t care. Coaches get mad and yell at refs/umps quite often. This one, for whatever reason, seems to have had a lasting effect on some Tennessee fans.

I guess it was about as stupid posting this as it was Vaughn flipping out over his catcher trying to get away with calling for a review on that obvious correct call.

Lesson learned… Maybe

I actually like having coaches on the other team that I care about. It makes it fun. I miss the characters like Spurrier and Wimp. It doesn’t mean I don’t respect them. It’s just a lot of fun to cheer for them or against them.

It looks like Alabama has a good one in Vaughn. He is definitely passionate…

I don't think he overreacted. He acted the same way Tony would. His catcher said he caught it so he asked. The umpire had no really clear answer and made a statement an umpire should never make and he lost it. The same way Tony would have.
He did what I love about Tony. He had his player's back. He questioned the call. He got fired up when the umpire disrespected him/his player.

What did the ump say that was disrespectful to the coach or player?

Watching it in the moment, it seemed like a carryover from Fischer delaying getting into the box and the umpire's inability or unwillingness to force the issue. I'm not sure what the umpire can do to Fischer. Put a strike on him, which would have called him out with 2 strikes already? eject him from the game? I am assuming Fischer called timeout but that pitch clock in Tuskalooser seemed off all day. I think they were starting it later than usual.

To me, for the catcher to have caught that, meant that he would be on his knees waiting for the pain to subside. But then again, I'm soft.
