And it's getting worse. Purdue is a perfect matchup for VCU. Being overrated is helpful too.

Purdue is not a very good team outside of Moore and Johnson. Take those two out and Purdue is a .500 team at best.

Purdue had great stats. I am actually pretty shocked. Shaka Smart anyone? They're gonna give Kansas all they want for that final 4 berth!

VCU is good... they had a lot of let downs on the year but are making the most of their opportunity. The talent is there and they are utilizing it when it counts.

this is the reason i don't want to hear anymore about the "overseeded" thing. you have to play the games and win them. period.

vcu didn't belong in the tourney to most and have taken 6 seed georgetown and 3 seed purdue behind the woodshed.

temple took sd state to double overtime. michigan pushed duke. washington pushed north carolina. morehead state beat louisville. princeton pushed kentucky. butler beat pitt, etc, etc, etc.

there is no easy road and some teams will have an easier time in the final four than they did in the 2nd round.

i am sure kansas would have chuckled at the thought of having to beat boston university, illinois, and richmond to get to the elite 8 before the season started. think kansas fans would have signed up for that?

a lot of teams look mediocre right up until the pressure and intensity of tournament play kicks into high gear.

Who cares what you want to hear? UF was handed a ticket to the Elite 8.

Duke son a title last year because of bullshiz seeding.

if florida was handed a ticket to the elite 8, what was pittsburgh handed?

if duke won the national title because of seeding, how come syracuse, kansas state, and michigan state couldn't beat butler but duke could.

how come duke could beat west virginia, but kentucky couldn't.

i guess the committee really screwed kansas by putting northern iowa in their bracket last season.

duke took care of business. they beat west virginia who took out the #1 seed in their region and bulter who took out the #1 seed in their region.

if the #1 seeds in those regions had done the same, they would have had the opportunity to beat duke. but, they couldn't

Awesome analysis. Sounds like you're saying matchups are immaterial, which is simply stupid.

yes, i am sure the committee knew butler would knockoff syracuse, kansas state, and michigan state to get to the championship game. i am willing to bet heavily that syracuse fans were pissed at the committee before the tourney started for putting butler in their region.

everyone knew before the tournament started that butler would give those squads more than they could handle.

i can only speak for myself, but i know i had northern iowa beating kansas in the 2nd round last year. northern iowa is a terrible matchup for anyone.

butler and michigan state were 5 seeds for crying out loud.

Tossing out low likelihood upsets really makes your case strong. Should probaly put all the weak teams on one side and all the strength on the other, you know, since a game is a game and upsets are as likely to happen as the favorite winning.

i know exactly what i said.

duke knocked out the teams that no one else was able to beat.

plenty of teams could have knocked out butler. no one did. well, duke did.

kentucky couldn't beat west virginia. duke did.

kansas couldn't beat northern iowa.

Senseless drivel. Duke beat teams that only a limited few had to play and did so in a one and done format.

Just because you are capable of winning games in the tournament doesn't mean that you did enough during the season to deserve an invite. They're two different arguements.

yeah, northern iowa. all that strength in that region last season. i mean #1 seed kansas taken out by northern iowa and #3 seed georgetown beaten by #14 seed ohio.

i don't think duke could have gotten by ohio or northern iowa.

and if they had been in syracuse's region, they never would have beaten butler. even though they beat them later.

if they had been in kentucky's region, they never would have gotten past west virginia. even though, they beat them by 21 at the final four. kentucky was really screwed with the east tennessee state, wake forest, cornell, west virginia path to the final four.

Freaking silly to tell me that beating 4 patsies to the final 4 is similar to KU's trail, or KYs or anyone from any other region. Duke had to beat exactly one team that might play them close to even in a series. Nobody else had anything that ridiculous.

that's the whole point. winning the tournament isn't easy.

if it was easy, none of us would have problems filling out a bracket.

duke did what no one else could. you find me one circumstance last year where one heavyweight team was knocked out of the tournament by another power team.

west virginia beating kentucky is the closest thing you will find.

like i said, this was ky's path last season....

east tennessee state, wake forest, cornell, and west virginia.

that's too much for any team to deal with.

syracuse beat vermont and gonzaga before butler was just too much to handle.

kansas had lehigh and northern iowa before they were eliminated.

doesn't look to me like the #1 seeds were screwed on their way to the final four, while duke was given a paved road to a title.
