Venezuela's Triumphant Socialist Paradise

The Cold War is over. Been over.

I’ve changed and I’m wise enough to had done so. I quit watching red scare movies once the USSR dissolved...
How do you think Russia feels being encircled by American bases?
Why do they care? The Cold War is over and we’re all friends right? 🤷‍♂️

Edit: dammit @LouderVol 🤬

It wouldn't be good to allow Russia or China to gain a foothold in the Americas

Yep, that is the worst option. China already has the Panama Canal ... thanks to Carter. It really shouldn't take a genius to look at the geography and figure the Caribbean is pretty small, shipping passing through is important, and Venezuela is strategically placed.

Then why do we care if Russian or Chinese bases are in South America?
I personally didn’t say that they did. But likewise you can’t have it both ways. You can’t have the US being a meanie to poor ole Vlad by ringing his shithole country with bases and then have us being the bad guys when they put troops and aircraft within strike range of the US mainland. Remember the nuke capable bombers that “transitioned” thru there? At least be consistent in your hatred views of your country.

Russia already has troops stationed in Venezuela, so the worst case scenario has already happened.

An even worse scenario will happen if we get involved militarily.

I don't want Russian or Chinese soldiers stationed in our hemisphere

I think a lot of people have forgotten that there was a guy named Monroe who had similar thoughts. He wasn't troubled by Asian colonialism, but today that's a bigger issue than European colonialism ... Europeans are a little busy with all their chicks coming "home" from the former colonies to roost.

The Monroe Doctrine needs to be enforced

Love how people throw out the “be consistent” line when they are the ones that want it both ways. I’m not the one whining about Vladimir or complaining where his troops are.

There is nothing inconsistent about my stance. Again, if it’s okay for us to do it...why not ole Vlad?

You’re accusing me of some statement I haven’t made in here. I fully expect there to be continual tit for tat between the two countries. And I directly showed in your own posts your inconsistency in your statements. As did louder.

Exactly. It’s not our business...

It’s a multi-order world now and countries have options besides toeing the American line...

Like, say, former Soviet bloc countries willingly joining the NATO alliance? Yet when Georgia and now Ukraine make a move towards the West it resulted in Russian intervention....

No you didn’t...

All this shiz went down because the Venezuelan people had been convinced the way to paradise is to soak the rich, to abhor success and demonize capitalism in the name of social justice. It’s a lie there just as it’s a lie here. Pay attention lefties....and take a long look at the cluster fudge of candidates lining up on the Dim left for 2020 that believe just as the Venezuelans did. Tell me they don’t...
