What is with this guy...

He was having a love feast on Oregon when we played them, then with Bama.. much more of the same.

Can't stand him... Has he always been this way?

As soon as we get back to competing like Bama and Oregon, Verne (assuming he's around) will slop ours too.

When Tennessee gets back to performing in contests like a true top ten performer, its going to be satisfying and vindicating to me is watching talking heads like Lundquist kiss Volunteer butt with relish.

I'm sure you hated it when we everyone loved us in the 90s and early 2000s too. And I'm sure when other fans complained about it like you're doing, you probably laughed at them and told them to get over it.

Verne is a Hall of Fame broadcaster approaching the tail end of his career.

Nothing more, nothing less.

He doesn't hate Tennessee.

Additionally, the legacy of Volnation threads where someone attempts to berate or belittle a person of whose name they cannot spell correctly continues in full force.

I hate that crew just because they butcher so many names and don't seem to understand some pretty basic points about a game they cover for a living. I get that he's probably near retirement, but take some pride in your craft and do some research before games.

Vern likes whomever is winning. That is if he can figure out what the player names are. He might have been much better earlier in his career, but for the past 3-4 years he's been horrible.

At least Verne doesn't go creepy old guy over AJ McCarron's girlfriend...I think some of you young guys that don't like it when an announcer fawns over Alabama are probably lucky you never had to sit through Keith Jackson's call of a Bama game.

I got sick of Jackson first in 1997 when he slobbered all over Charles Woodson in the Rose Bowl vs. Washington St.

Then his whole retirement thing overshadowed John Ward's last ride; not that I expected the whole nation to celebrate Ward but they barely mentioned the Fiesta Bowl as being Ward's last game yet wouldn't shut up about it (at the time) being Jackson's.

And then after all that hubub he came back anyway, and if you think Verne is bad and can't see, Jackson was awful by the end of his career. His play by play is probably the only bad thing about the Texas/USC Rose Bowl. I lost count on how many times he said he couldn't tell what happened.

Jackson pretty much coronated Miami during the pregame for the Sugar Bowl. Same thing with FSU before the Fiesta.

Keith Jackson HATED Steve Spurrier back in the day because Spurrier wouldn't kiss his ass like other coaches.

The 1995 Tennessee game when we scored 48 straight points, you woulda thought Jackson was ready to leave the booth and punch Spurrier in the ear.

"They'll remember that next year in Knoxville."
