Still they are a middie that keeps it players - no 1 and doners

You edited your post.

Xavier has lost a lot from last year's team. From Brendan Quinn's article this morning:

Coach Chris Mack lost 2011-12 leading scorer Tu Holloway and leading rebounder Kenny Frease to graduation, parted ways with second-leading scorer Mark Lyons (transfer to Arizona) and then unexpectedly lost fourth-leading scorer Dezmine Wells (transfer to Maryland) after he was expelled by the school for a sexual assault charge that was later dismissed.

As if that wasn't enough, Xavier lost incoming freshmen Jalen Reynolds and Myles Davis, half of Mack's 14th-ranked recruiting class, to academic eligibility issues. Then, for good measure, assistant coaches Rasheen Davis (to Manhattan) and Kareem Richardson (to Louisville), jumped ship.

This was a good win, but Xavier isn't the team that they've been in the past 4-5 years.

No, Butler did.

If you're into comparative scores then try this one.

Xavier beat Butler 62-47, Vandy won at Xavier 66-64 and Butler beat Vandy tonight at Vandy 68-39. That's why you can't do that.

Yeah I did a double take and edited right away - for some reason I always get the 2 mixed up -- as for low scores check this one Syracuse over Alcorn St (2-13) now that had to be ugly

Butler lost to Xavier very early in the season. I don't put much into Nov games. Butler will and has gotten better. They torched Vandy tonight at Vandy. Xavier is not the same team they've been, but they're no Western Carolina or directional school. They still have talent. I watched them against Vandy and they were careless with the ball and had lapses. That let Vandy back in the game and they pulled it out. Same thing happened today. They went 10 minutes without a bucket.

Anyone even excited to watch the low scoring games? I mean defense is good to have sure. I dunno. Even if we won every game I find myself flipping the channel bc it's boring basketball.

I'm beginning to think a large portion of our fanbase are more concerned with the games being "entertaining" than actually winning the games.

No, it hasn't been pretty. But the negativity is way too strong considering we're 8-3 and without our best player.

I enjoy winning as much as the next guy but I'm going to give my 2 cents.

In a well played game, win or lose, you get to enjoy the game. At the end maybe you lose and it wasn't the outcome you wanted but at least you spent almost 2 hours enjoying the game.

In a poorly played, grind it out defensive struggle, you can really only be happy if your team wins. If they lose, you just spent 2 hours slamming your head into a wall for nothing.

Winning trumps all things but if I had to pick between a game in the 80s or a game in the 50s, I want the one in the 80s.

i'm excited to see a win. i couldn't give a rat's a$$ if the score ended up 2 to 1 as long as we had the 2. if you were go back in ut BB history you might see a few games that barely made it out of the 20's. Ray Mears coached a few low scoring games in his tenure. and I was excited then

Went to the game last night and was glad to see a really good crowd in attendance. 18000+ was good to see especially during Xmas break.

Yea I was surprised by the crowd, didn't expect it to be that good. Xavier isn't ranked, and isn't a huge name school so didn't think it'd draw out the casual fan.

Gives me hope that TBA might actually be 20k+ strong January 4th.

Did we really get that many fans?
