Very Impressed with Vols tonight

JP ? LOLOLOLOLOL I thought Goins and Chism played well but not Prince. Heck, Steve Pearl is better then JP. Scotty Hopson needs to get a clue. Tough to beat a good team at home with the refs calling it one way. BUT we didn't help our selves either. One and done in the tourney unless Pearl can turn it around by the conf tournament.

Also does the team practice free throw shooting? Just wondering

Go Vols

JP is easily one of our best players. He's never going to be a thinker or out hustle people, but his length helps enormously. Our PG situation kills us daily, even when they score.

I agree totally. I want to emphasize my rant wasn't all TN fans or even a majority. Just the vocal minority that are prolly more TN fans then they are overall football or basketball fans so they don't know other teams and can't see every team has their own similar problems.

And yeah we haven't had a real PG since Watson. They get hot sometimes and score, but aren't good at making others aaround them better. But almost every team has that problem these days... even in the NBA. For some reason 6 ft. 3 guys and below that have handles wanna be Iverson type more then a Jason Kidd type... so bout everybody has this problem. Doesn't look like we're getting a true PG next yr. either. I hear Golden is more of a scorer to. I'm sure Pearl wants a true PG even more then the fans, but they are just hard to come by these days.

You would think we would have some decent guard play by now. Incidentally, this is the same thing that has plagued KY up until this year.

Sometimes I wish we would run our entire offense through Chism much like UK did with Patterson for the last 2 years. It would be boring to watch but you have to think there would be fewer wasted trips.

I thought Pearl actually had the plan. The 2-3 zone stiffled Cousins. UT broke his double-double streak. Bledsoe just happened to take advantage of what we gave him.

"JP is easily one of our best players.."

That's not saying much is it ? .....

"He's never going to be a thinker or out hustle people..."

Bingo

He's soft....He can't shoot....He doesn't hit free throws...He's out of control on his drives to the hole and doesn't finish his shots...He's more about ESPN-type look-at-me dunks....He turns the ball over way too much to be a veteran ball player...

The Vols need more out of him than his "length"...He has the potential to be a very, very good player...Doesn't look like he is ever going to reach that potential...

"We're 18-6 and we just played the #2 team in the country at their place awful tough until the last 5 min. Even the announcers seemed shocked most of the game. KY talent wise is a team many say is as talented as any college basketball team in a long time and we played them well enough where people gotta say we have a good chance to beat them at home in 2 weeks. It's a good place for TN basketball to be IF you can just focus on the positves more then the negatives for a change. God, if we ever got rid of Pearl no good coach would ever wanna come here b/c of some of our dumb, hating, always skeptical fans..."

NBKGault...

We should be past making this argument, the moral victory argument, for this program now....31 points or 11 points...A loss is a loss is a loss....The Vols played well enough to pull off a great win last night for 32-33 minutes...Too bad the game is 40 minutes..Kentucky had a couple players step up and the Vols didn't...

especially JP and the PGs and Chism.

We were severely outmanned, but the better team IMO. There is no way Tony Greene and his little white wannabe was going to let KY lose that game. 30 FT attempts to 13. No surprise there. The surprise was that it wasn't a blow-out. With fair officiating, our guys win this one. There is no place on the planet that the over-the-back dunk by Cousins over Prince is allowed except where it is a KY player in Rupp Arena.

Tony Green must live in Lexington. I bet the guy calls 75% of KY's home games. Every collision except 2 were fouls on UT, over the back and pushing was allowed by KY.

It's funny, but losing by 11 and getting screwed (as expected) by the Rupperees actually has me encouraged.

I Agree with the B.S. fouls, & the points , J.P. , & Wayne, but once again , WE CAN'T CLOSE GAMES !!!! We had numerous opportunities last night to close, & WE DON'T KNOW HOW !!!!!

That's not the point. He means that VU and UK got more foul shots than UT because they were more aggressive.
I keep hearing this crap about Vandy getting all these calls because they were the aggressor. Well guess what, they shot another 43 free throws against LSU, and they took it to the comodes yesterday. How many of you out there wanna bet Vandy shoots another 43 in Oxford next week?
