Very sad to see....

The issue was Pruitt waited until Tuesday to tell the young man. Pruitt strung the kid along in case one of his 3 others bolted on him. Pruitt knew 3 weeks ago he was going to do this. Very low class. Again, you’ll be back at Baylor in the near future. I hope they tell him to get off campus.
CFB is a business. The kid is still going to a great school. Whats the issue here? Besides, you don't know the facts. For all we know Pruitt told him weeks ago he may want to have a back up plan.

Just as Pruitt won't stop recruiting at McCallie if there's a recruit there, Baylor and their staff won't do anything to inhibit a kid from playing at Tennessee if the chance arises. Fwiw, if the Baylor staff somehow tries to mess with a kid's possible recruitment to ANY school, Tennessee, Alabama, or wherever, they should be fired on the spot for not looking after the best interest of their players.
I don't know how this stuff really works at the HS level. I do know there were people at Brentwood Academy who steered guys that we wanted towards Auburn instead. I don't know why that happened or how it started but it went on for years and cost us some dudes at a time when Fulmer needed dudes. Coach Flatt called it "trust". We don't need a coach who looks like he has one foot out the door f-ing up "trust" for us in a way that may last a lot longer than his tenure as head coach here.

this school produces more talent than any other school in Nashville and it all goes to Auburn, I wish someone copuld explain that to me.

Greene latest to join BA pipeline to Auburn

CHIP CIRILLO
Staff Writer

A.J. Greene couldnt figure out why so many Brentwood Academy football players signed with Auburn.
It appears hes learned the answer because the Eagles defensive end has become the eighth BA player to commit to the Tigers since 2000.
Before I committed there I always wondered why so many Brentwood Academy kids went to Auburn, Greene said. But when I took my visit up there I understood why because its just a wonderful place and a great atmosphere to be in. The fans, how nice the people were, how the coaches were things like that impressed me the most.
Former BA stars Kody Bliss, Mike Berry, Pete Compton, King Dunlap, John Vaughn, Jake Slaughter and Taylor Bourgeois have all played for Auburn during the past six seasons.
I talked to King quite a bit because his sister, Victoria, goes to my school, Greene said. Ive been trying to get to know him and let him get to know me.
Victoria Dunlap has signed a letter of intent with Kentucky in basketball and track and field.
Greene said Louisville, Mississippi and Mississippi State also offered him scholarships. His only visits were to Louisville and Auburn.
For me to have colleges looking at me from the SEC is a huge honor because everyone knows the SEC is probably one of the toughest conferences in the USA, Greene said.
The 6-foot-5, 255-pound senior helped lead BA (11-1) to its 10th state championship with a 37-34 win over McCallie in the Division II-AAA final on Nov. 18.
Auburn Coach Tommy Tuberville and defensive ends coach Terry Price came to BA to watch Greene at practice.
Hes a great pass rusher, and he can also play tight end, BA Coach Carlton Flatt said. He can play either offense or defense. I think they saw a really good player right now and a great player here in the next two or three years.
Flatt has developed a lot of trust with the Auburn coaching staff after sending so many players to the SEC power.
What they say they like most is the kind of people they are, Flatt said. I think right now if we recommend somebody, they trust us pretty much. And we have developed a trust in them. We know if our kids go down there, they are going to treat them right.

He tweeted last weekend how excited he was to sign with his dream school. Talk about not knowing facts.
Yeah, I get it. You guys support that kind of recruiting. I dont.

Supporting it and understanding it are two different things. This has been going on since the fax machine was actually an inventive way to speed up the signing day process. You might need to go cheer for an Ivy League school or a military school

The fact you all fail to realize is Tennessee led this kid to believe they were going to sign him up until Tuesday night. They lied to this kid and his family for 3 weeks knowing they were going to only sign 3 RBs in order to sign more grad transfers to make up for Pruitts recruiting mistakes the last 3 years.

I expect more character out of a man im going to send my son to play for. I expect educational institutions demand better than that out of their employees. "Just because everyone else does it, doesnt make it right."

Philip Fulmer likely called some 3 star qb in 1994 for the same reason the night before signing day when he learned he was somehow going to ink both Peyton Manning and Branndon Stewart. You’re the one failing to understand

Lolol solid comeback. I want to steal “bamercat” but there’s no real use for that word anywhere, at anytime

Neither do you scorned Vol fan. Tennessee inked 3 RBs w/ higher rankings and more stars. It just wasn't in the cards. Sorry you're so upset about it. Would you rather have the local kid ranked 718th nationally and 42nd at his position or the number 1 JUCO at his position and the number 10 overall back in the HS class?
Plus the talent we already have. This roster is DEEP at RB

Not taking up for Pruitt. He ain’t the man for the job in lots of ways. And when this stuff happens to a young man, it stinks. But is this a trait to only Pruitt? I don’t really think so? I’d venture to guess it’s far more common than anyone would care for by most all coaches. I think we have seen numerous examples to show that coaches are not exactly saintly figures as much as they try to portrait that. Plus, how about when a kid does this to a school at the last minute (speaking of Chattanooga area kid). Is that any more acceptable? Unfortunately, recruiting is a nasty dark business where lots of people get hurt in the process. Plus if you want to make the point that Pruitt is scum for this move alone; maybe the kid should be thankful he saw it now and moved on to another program

So you would rather turn a higher rated recruit away in favor of a lower rated one just because it’s the nicer thing to do? How is that in the best interest of the football team?

Pruitt didn’t take anyone. He’s decided to save scholarships for grad transfers for 1 year fixes. And how have grad transfers worked out in the past?

My complaint is they misled the young man right up to eve of signing day knowing they were only taking 3 other RBs.

This is hardest year to figure out scholarships available with some senior players welcomed back. Tough decisions. I would hope a kid like him understands this situation. Go to juco. Play a year ball out and yet can be in next years class. Just saying. Its not ideal but if you cant afford to walk on at UT and its your dream school. Go get education elsewhere that you can hone your skills and get school work started then if you are still wanting to come to UT then with a year of being stronger and more proven. The coaches may still take you.
