Very upsetting performance & lack of execution. Out matched all over the field.

If Ohio State only called run plays up the middle all game like they did against Michigan, we would have won. We got beat by their WR and HBs on pass plays

Not sure if TN would have won, but it would have been a much closer game without a doubt. Day/Kelly deployed the dumbest game plan in the history of Ohio State football for 2024 edition of The Game because former Wolverines coach Jim Harbaugh had called the Buckeyes 'soft'. Instead of utilizing the multiple 5* WRs on the roster, Day tried to prove Harbaugh wrong by stupidly/stubbornly & repeatedly calling running plays up the middle -- right at the strength of a Michigan defense anchored by 2 DTs that will be future 1st round draft picks. OSU easily scored a TD against Michigan in the only series during the game it threw downfield (right before the 1st half ended). If you think Heupel has his share of critics, Day handily has him beat in that department. Thankfully, someone probably threatened Day will termination for cause if he had used a similar game plan against Tennessee.

Sounds like we found out the recipe for next year; Heupel needs to start insulting some of our opponents in ways that help us

If you look at the positions that are underperforming, you will find above average to fairly decent talent, based on high school a/o previous stop's production against relevant competition. You will also see a regression, not lack of performance, but regression. Those particular position coaches, who are not great at their job, try to earn their paycheck by sharing what they think is good coaching and consultation. And in doing so, unravel the fabric of what made that player good before. That's simply bad coaching. And the only way an overpaid, bad coach learns is by being shown the door and learning from their failure. Kinda like a player getting benched or recruited over. Until they're fired, they have 6 figures or better to validate how good of a coach they are.

Imo, there are coaches on this staff that need to learn and evolve. CJH needs to do what's best for both the school, AND what's best for the wanty coaches to evolve-- rattle some cages and shake things up. Insanity, is just 'that', and needs to be avoided in coaching. No one wants a leader who insulates themselves beyond being rational and realistic. Rant over.

And as so, they're gratified that they are good at what they do...

Problem is, Heupel doesn't fire coaches. And the first coach that needs to hit the road is best buds with him.

... So then, we had better get ready to ride the carousel again. Bc coaching stubborn is coaching malpractice, and has the potential of the Titanic, and it's fate
