VFJ’s Thoughts On Josh Heupel

In defense of the Heupel doubters (and I was one of them, just not in this thread) ...

Didn't it seem like kind of a lazy hire at the time it was made? Danny White told us there would be a coaching search, but then he hired the guy down the hall at UCF. Crow doesn't always taste bad, either. We are glad to be wrong.

I won’t say lazy because White walked into a dumpster fire. It was a very safe and easy hire for him to inject stability into the mess he walked into.

“I tried to conduct a search for bigger names but they had doubts given the environment. Here is a guy (CJH) I’ve worked with the last couple of years and am very comfortable with him and he’ll be a stable guy”…..

Anytime you can hire an offensive minded coach, you buy some time because being a dumpster than can score points is better than a dumpster that can’t.

But you were negative yourself about DW and the hiring of CJH. A nega vol calling out other Nega Vols. I wouldn't call me out anymore because I'm just going to call you back out on your stance of the CJH hiring
He’s the worst poster on here yet again
It's become a pious purity spiral.

Admit past NegaVol transgressions, vow to do better, but you still transgressed worse than him and cannot absolve your past nega

Don't forget to send a gift basket to Virginia Tech. They got a potential Heisman trophy winner to enter the transfer portal. LSU was thanking Ohio State for Joe Burrow. Weird how that works out.
Says that at least some would be transfers are absolutely right that they could be more successful elsewhere.

Then Tony Elliott.
Oh yea forgot Elliott was offered.
Nope, no offer was ever made to Elliott. Just some feelers gauging whether he might be interested while we were still after Franklin.

By the time Franklin said no (after two and a half days of dogged pursuit), Dan White already knew the next guy he was making an offer to was Josh Heupel.
