Of course I am pulling for Joe cause I’m a Vol fan but I’m also pulling for him cause the maturity he handled the entire situation in ‘21 & ‘22. Kids today need to see staying the course works.[/QUOT

Aha, we just need to dress up our receivers and tight ends to look like golf carts. Make-Up!!!!

I would have one of our three receivers go deep every single play. Even if they aren't the primary receiver or targeted. It would put so much stress on the DBs, it would automatically open up running lanes or the middle of the field for our TEs. Milton's arm strength is frightening. To cover any of our receivers going deep 1x1 is going to be risky proposition. Our WR just need to be able to get off the line of scrimmage pretty clean.
I would LOVE for this to happen because it would mean the off-play WRs are running out their routes.....instead of stopping after 5 yards. I will never ever like this in JHueps system and I hope it goes away entirely this year. It brings rampant criticism to our program....and that matters because it paints a picture that equates to gimmicky system and lack of NFL translation. So it matters.

Remember Robert Edwards ?! When I see Him doing stuff like this, that's the first thing that comes to mind.
What? Throwing a ball and playing beach football are two entirely different things. Should Milton not practice because he might get hurt?

I get what you're saying, but it is essential to the offense not needing substitutions, and thus, the defense cannot sub either. If our receivers are going 100% every play, we will have to sub for them after a couple, at most, as deep as our routes are.

No it doesn’t. We lead the NCAA in TDs. That’s what matters.

That is as legit point. But I would love to see us sub s bit more on WR position, as it improves your chance to sign more big name players to that spot.

Good Point. I'm also going to add the class shown by Joe and his roommate Hendon Hooker. From what I saw, Hooker did everything he could to help Joe, even knowin that if Joe got "too good" he might replace him ( Hooker). I'll always believe that help is what helped Joe perform so well in the Orange Bowl. He really seemed to pull it all together while his friend was sidelined.
TWO young men with a lot of class.

Line up 4 wide.

Receiver 1. Go route
Receiver 2. Deep slant
Receivers 3 and 4. Crossing routes under the other two

Who on earth could defend that?

This wasn't practice.

Exactly, and he wasn’t doing anything that required the effort that he has to put forth in actual practice. Robert Edwards played beach flag football and tore every ligament in his knee. Joe Milton is throwing 3/4 effort against air. He’ll be fine.
