He should stay in school and win the heisman next year.

His stock will never be higher after a night like that. He's won his National title. It's time to get paid.

467 total yards, roughly 200 yards rushing, 3 TDs and a 2 point conversion, and the game winning TD in the National title game.

I know it just happened, but that was the greatest individual performance in a big game that I can ever remember.

Yep. Lee Corso just said that too... The man can be an idiot some of the time, but Corso has seen more college football than most of us combined.

The only reason I wanted USC to win is because I picked them... I'm just glad the game turned out this damn good.

I will have to agree with u on that one GA, but the one play that nobody even mentioned was Texas stopping White on 4th and 1. If USC gets that 1st down the game is over.

That proved that Carroll had ZERO confidence in his defense. The play there was to punt them deep and play defense. It wasn't like it was 4th and 6 inches.

this is how i look at vince young right now

runs like micheal vick, balance like randall cunigham, has a side arm throw like philip rivers and fouts, and has the heart of mcnair.

One question about Young. Can he line up under center for the snap and drop back? I noticed that he did not do that much or any at all in the NC game. Granted with that talent in college, maybe it was not needed for that offense but he can't play from the shotgun on every play in the NFL. This is not a criticism of the guy, just a question that I have not heard anyone mention in the media or elsewhere.

The above post is a fair analysis. No one can take away the pure talent Young has. It just seems fair for an NFL team to question whether or not Young can take a five step drop make a decision where to throw the ball in a matter of a second. He generally operates out of the shotgun. (Alex Smith also)

If all he wants is money then leave while your stock is at its highest. If he wants to continue to improve his passing skills and play in the NFL for more than 3-4 years then I would return.

As of now he looks like if he goes out he will be drafted by a team that will need immediate help so that will transfer to automatic playing time. Is he ready for the NFL?

Vince Young will get owned in the NFL...

Terrible accuracy, a lot of passes had to be caught with awkward stretching by the WRs and TEs. That will get your players hurt on the pro level.

Running against mediocre defenses proves nothing, he is not Vick. They will grind him up and he will be Aaron Brooks in a few years.

That's pretty much what Vick is right now, except add the extraordinary hype machine.

VY had just about as many passing yards this season as Vick had his entire two year career at Virginia Tech Institute.

The concensus among NFL analysts seems to be that while young needs to improve alot as a passer, his flaws are correctable. No doubt he is a project, but the upside with this guy seems to be almost limitless.

How much money is a team going to be willing to gamble on a project?

Just look at the NBA.....Kwame, etc..... :birgits_giggle: !

If you want to look at NFL picks that have not panned out have at it.

He is not NFL ready so why gamble precious cap room?

For instance New Orleans is ready built for Matt Leinhart. If he were drafted by New Orleans they could have immediate success if Duece comes back 100%.

No doubt Leinhart will have a longer NFL career than Young. Scrambling, running QBs dont seem to last long these days. Just look at Vick he stays injured anymore, Brooks the same way, Cordell Stewart lasted a little while, Randall Cunningham probably lasted longer than anyone. Heath Shuler was a scrambling, running QB and u seen what happened to him, he got paid of course. If Young wants a long career in the NFL he needs to develop his pocket passing which means staying in school another year, but if he wants paid and I mean paid big, leave now and play a few years and be set for life.

Steve McNair has 10 years in the leauge and was known as a scrambler, although not a speedster, for most of his career.

BTW we paid Pacman 2.2 million last year. WTF??
