This is over the head of all you youngn's. TN basketball was a bigger joke than UT baseball under Todd Raleigh.

Those were definitely tough times for the program and for myself. I am very thankful for the support that we recieved throughout it all! I wish I could track down the person that made those T-shirts....

What is up Isaiah? Welcome aboard. Doesn't seem that long ago when you were stuck in red shirt purgatory. I know that was tought to sit out that year, and I think O'neil about blew a gasket over it. But it was a blast getting to watch you play. Any eligibility left? They need you man.

Yeah its funny how '96 can seem like yesterday but thats definitely the case! Im back at UT finishing my degree so being here bring back so many memories. That was a tough year for me, but when i finally got a chance to play it was a great feeling. Absolutely no eligibilty left, besides in my dreams! lol thanks for the support! #VFL44

I feel like this team's offense relies almost exclusively on getting the ball into the down low. They have Stokes, they'll have Maymon at some point, and Kenny Hall has also shown a much-improved game in the low post. It makes sense to try to play to your strengths, and ours is clearly inside.

Hopefully this isn't too harsh, but it seems like the team doesn't have a clue when defenses take this option away from them. Teams pack the paint a lot on us, and when that happens we shut down. We just pass the ball around the perimeter until the shotclock runs down and somebody has to make a move and jack up a rushed, contested jumper. They need to set picks, move off the ball, and drive to the rim. I know we CAN do these things - I've seen it - but it doesn't happen nearly enough.

Is this an accurate assessment?

Thanks for your input Isiah. I enjoyed your years up on The Hill and I still want to punch Doug Dickey for not allowing O'Neill to get you eligible in your first year. That is part of the problem right now with the academic and sports side. They aren't on the same page and this university has had zero leadership at the top and this is why we are currently in one of the worst periods of UT athletics in its entire history. Until there is stable leadership at the top, I have a feeling this school will be mired in mediocrity.

Now off my soapbox. I think unless Maymon gets back then this team is NIT bound. There is no consistent perimeter scorer to take the load off of Stokes and stop teams from packing it in. I would play McRae and Edwards more because they give us our best shot at more offense. I know Martin is a defensive coach and those two probably don't play defense as well as he wants them to, but McBee is not a SEC starter in my opinion. He needs to come off the bench. Until someone steps up from the outside, this team is what it is. A NIT team.

I think thats fair to say at this point. You can tell that teams focus on stopping our low post play. We need to become a threat in other areas to help our post players

Thanks alot for your concern about my situation. Looking back on it I feel I grew in a lot of ways that year dispite the controversy that surrounded me. Maybe ill write about the whle thing one day? I had the tons of great memories in TBA and being back is a pleasure of mine. As far as the team goes, I think we will be fine when the games matter the most. I know theres guys on the team that can and will do more. Just a matter of finding the right mix of guys
