Virginia Tech stone helmets

I think it's hilarious that everyone is trying to reduce leading with the helmet and all that stuff, and they make a helmet that's supposed to look like stone. Nice work VT.

I'm not sure if you're being serious or not. But if you are being serious how does that have anything to do with or have any cause/effect in a player lowering his helmet? Not that I like them in the least but I think you're definitely stretching to make something out of nothing.

Good lord. The actual game version of the helmets is even worse than thought with some emblem sticker over top of the stone.

I personally think they look better in person than the pictures. Still not a big fan of them but not as hideous as i previously thought.

I kept thinking I was seeing things. Those helmets are horrific.

That stone is what many of their buildings on campus are constructed from. It's the signature design on campus. Plus, as someone else wrote, the stone is found locally. The buildings look awesome; the helmets look atrocious.

They are very proud of their stones in Blacksburg.

First time I went to a game there I told someone their campus looked like a state prison with all those stone buildings. I greatly offended that person and got the history lesson.

Funny thing is that Casey Clausen and Jason Witten walked right past me looking for their seats. Tech played LSU and also Witten's brother played for Tech. I actually said outloud "Holy S---, that's Casey Clausen!". It was surreal to randomly see them there in Blacksburg.
