Proof or it didn't happen. Take screen shot or stop saying you get pop ups from here. Right now it's your computer with infections and pop up problems. Pic or it didn't happen :)

Agreed in the future to take a screen shot - however I'm a computer expert and believe me it was Volnation orginated so stop your ignorant rant if you don't know what you're talking about - that Virus (page) was Definitely Volnation-based.

The website administrator should scan the server for the word VIRUS and find the webpage. I believe it is only a webpage not an actual virus.

lol - no time to explain, nor no time to fool around with false 'virus' webpages. but it is time for someone to look at the Volnation server. Again, I do not believe it is a 'virus' but instead a webpage sending a false 'virus' alarm intended for users to click and then re-directing users to another website. It may be an image file and the word "virus" may not present itself during the scan. Take it or leave it for what its worth - but it is indeed on the Volnation.com website issue.

Yes indeed there was a page that came up either yesterday or Thursday when accessing Volnation that said something like "your virus software has detected a serious virus - run virus scan" - obviously not quoted verbatim. I immediately shutdown internet explorer and restarted with the intent to run virus scan. nothing more was found. I believe someone attempted to hack volnation. This only happened one time and nothing more happened but it definitely happened from the Home Page of Volnation.com and if I remember correctly it happened when I clicked on the frontpage story of either "Vols could see most benefit from early enrollees" or "Where’s the Beef?" so beware. P.S. I believe the WARNING PAGE was a false page that was intended to draw the user into another area of the Internet. That warning message was not generated by my own virus scan software.

Early enrollees was thread I clicked to read as well.

While we're pointing out website issues .... this is also coincidentally happening now on the Utsports.com website.

I sorta half laughed, then stopped and realized you might be serious. I need proof you're not a half wit.

It has nothing to do with this site, sounds more like something that infected your work's servers or whatever...email etc...

unless someone at your work likes the pron a little to much :)

So this pop up says I have a virus but if I pay them $100 they will remove it. Sounds like a deal to me!

Freak,

I have been getting at least one or two pop ups lately on the main page. Is this something new?

I'm not aware of any issues, if it happens again, grabbing a screenshot will help. But everything looks fine on my end and there are no signs of any issues. As always, I'll keep an eye out. :hi:

It isn't a server issue. It may be an ad or malware issue you've picked up somewhere, which are tailored to individual users. I've seen ads on various websites before which look like a virus scanner and informing you of a virus and to "click here" to fix it. I assumed most realized those are a scam. That said, I've personally never seen one here.

This seems to be a confined issue which likely means isn't originating here, but I'll keep an eye out. Never click on a virus warning popup unless you are sure it's your virus scanner.

If your on mobile if could be your touch screen. If you don't balance it out regularly it can barley be off and you click an add. It happens to me all the time I go to scroll down and the page updates and I hit a ad. Jmo

ok good deal. Agreed it was isolated and it only happened one time, on one day, during one event (as far as I know) so shouldn't be concerned. Also I haven't been able to reproduce it since then and that's good. Will keep an eye open and screen capture if it resurfaces. You guys do a really good job with the site so on behalf of all the enjoyment that folks get from the site - THANK YOU!!

Yes! I experienced a massive virus attack on Feb 5 which included numerous popups with six or more programs downloaded to my computer. Quite aggravating to have to continually delete all the pop-ups and then a couple that would not even delete. I then via "the control panel" uninstalled these programs which helped. Four days later a similar attacked occurred, this time on uninstalling newly unwanted downloaded programs, one Program took extensive time to uninstall. Afterwards, to my dismay, more programs were actually installed. New programs were announcing multiple virus attacks and offering purchasing to fix my computer. I could not even be certain that the dell service programs were not piggy backed as well as Microsoft service being piggy backed. Fortunately, I had a warranty policy with Microsoft which took 2.5 hours to clean up my computer. Thinking back, the only things I might be doing to get these virus is " Daily visiting the "vol pay sites" just to check headlines. I am not doing this as often as before! Just saying, not accusing.
