GT has the camp set up for OL and DL 6th and 7th and then the Skills camp 8th and 9th with our Elite camp being the 12th...Elite camps are basically where its a invite only type of thing to the top prospects on your board. During the camps kids are hoping to gain invites to the Elite day/camp...its basically a way to see kids in person and get them on campus. Majority of commits will go to Elite day but not compete...also if a kid wants to come to the Elite day and shows up according to NCAA rules you can't make him leave.

Heard Jarvis Jones may be in for an unofficial Saturday (2009, LB, Columbus, GA).

Is he a JUCO?

Played last year at USC but got hurt. Kiffin let him go based upon medical evaluations. Think Negedu except not a heart condition but I believe a neck injury. Real stud out of Carver High School. AJC has a write up on him. Just google his name, sorry I'm on my mobile.

Georgia kid signed with USC a year or so ago. Received release. Skinny is he could be eligible for the 2010 season. Dont know any of the details. Seems like he has a nagging injury of some type too

Per AJC:

"1. Former Carver-Columbus star Jarvis Jones has come home. Where he’ll continue his football career is now the big question. The 2008 AJC Super 11 linebacker has secured a scholarship release from Southern Cal and intends to transfer, Carver-Columbus coach Dell McGee confirmed Thursdsay morning. Where that will be and when is unclear at this point. . . . Jones was having a banner freshman season for the Trojans before neck injury against Oregon in the eighth game sidelined him for the rest of the year. There apparently is some debate about whether Jones should continue his career. Speaking to reporters in late March, new USC coach Lane Kiffin said of Jones: “I’m not very positive about the possibilities of him playing here. I don’t know how to describe it from a medical perspective. There’s a serious concern that hits or a number of hits could lead to permanent damage.” But McGee made it clear that Jones does indeed intend to continue playing football. “I can’t really talk about anything until everything’s official,” McGee said Thursday morning. “He’s still got to get paperwork to his schools of interest.” And what are those schools of interest? “I can’t say that right now,” McGee said. Jones will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Wright must be spreading the word that UT is an awesome place considering how many other teammates are joining him on his visit this time. Love it.

Great work on the thread, vol66. Anyway we could get a final list of everyone that came to camp? Or will we have to wait a day or two for that kinda thing?

It all depends on who you ask. Richardson is the only one in the Rivals 250. Joe Biddle of the Tennessean said in an article that the talent level in TN is bad this year. Take that FWIW. Cody Robinson has been having some good camps.

Nobody is going to mistake the level of talent in Tennessee for Georgia's or Florida's but this is actually a pretty good year for instate talent. There are at least five SEC caliber lineman IMO. Richardson, Kerbyson, and Clear are big time lineman with a few lower level guys.

List updated w/ comments on visit.

Sounds like it was an intense camp and the players had a good time.

If anyone hears more about players not on the list or reactions to the camp please post and I'll try to keep up.

Only disappointment was Kerbyson not showing up.
