When Tyler Bray took his official visit to see the Tennessee football program on October 4th many around the recruiting world were expecting a commitment from Bray to the Vols and just four days later he did indeed commit to the upstart Vols program. With just over a month and two weeks past that time [...]

I'm pretty excited about this kid...as an EE he'll have a few months to study the playbook and sit in on tape study, before Spring practice begins. I hope like the dickens he hits the ground running. Without Newton, I think Bray may be our best shot at QB and a hot offense next year.

I know fans were looking for a higher rated QB in the 2010 class. As for me, I like this kid and I think in time he will be a very good QB for UT. He's coming into the program fresh. He will have Kiff and Chaney teaching him from day one, got a great arm, and is putting on the weight he will need to play in the SEC. What's more he has no fear. No fear to travel to UT, no fear to play in the SEC. We need a QB with no fear. We also should get behind him 100%.

I think we overlook that if Tyler does get to be an EE, that he will have 6 to 7 months on a college level S@C program. In that time he could easily put on 10 to 15 lbs. of quality muscle. Plus him learning the system during spring ball. What ever happens Tyler will be a great addition to the Vols. And I believe CLK will continue to that CLK will play the best player. If that turns out to be Bray or anyother QB, then that QB will be the best one to put on the field. JMHO

Thanks for the interview. Really excited about getting this guy in Knoxville. Good luck with the rest of the season Tyler and looking foward to a great career with the Vols.

Well...he has earned his way higher in the rankings by his consistently good camp performances. I don't know of a better passer than him in this class, and with that being the case, I think we're in pretty good hands. I was a bit concerned early on with his slow 40 times, but after much deliberation, I'm reminded that Peyton, Clausen, and Ainge were all pretty slow-footed too.

I hope he takes to the advice Peyton will offer him, and he has the same type of work ethic Peyton had/has. If he does...I see him carving up our opponents like Thanksgiving Turkey...and on a weekly basis.

I think he's the best match for our system. And I'd take him over Heaps or Scroggins. He'll win a NC and a Heisman here. I think he has that potential after watching his clips and reading others take on him. It really astounds me more schools haven't gone after him. And under the right training and dietary program I could see him at 225-230lbs easily come next fall.

+1. At the Elite 11 camp, he won the Golden Gun Award each of the 3 days he was there...yeah...Jesse Who? He towers over both of those guys and has the stronger arm of the bunch. Glad we got him.

scroggins for sure and i'd say he's right up there pretty close to heaps. i'm not predicting any trophys but I think he is near perfect for what we need here.

I don't understand why people think a skinny true freshmen is going to start next year. I don't see it happening!

I am very excited about Tyler. I think he will do special things at UT, plus just how awesome is it that he is getting to follow in his hero, Peyton's, footsteps. I don't know if Peyton will do this or not but I hope he will take Tyler under his wing and tutor him along side Kiffin & Co. Can you imagine how sick he is going to be with that teaching??? Keep adding the weight kid and it's great to have you as a Vol!

I rather have Tee Martin tutoring him. He can teach him how to win a NC!

did you see Ainge getting significant playing time as a tall lanky freshmen. and that was Philip who always waited till after Florida to play his youngsters. In 04 Even he let scrawny Schaeffer and Ainge out there. And with this staff the best will play even if he is a little thin. they will teach him like Cutcliffe taught Ainge< don't take the unnecessary hit . chuck it in the cheap seats. make that light frame last

yeah we want a 48% career passer who is a mobile qb teaching a 6'6" pocket passer what to do. hmmm makes perfect sense. I dont have a problem with Tee, but as you know the whole thing this staff does is recruit to get to the pros. So let pros teach.

Yes, because that has NEVER happened at this very school before.....with pretty darn good results (Ainge, Manning). Some of you people act like if Bray gets hit he will snap in two. I hope he isnt forced to step in before he is ready....but if he gives us the best chance to win, he will be in there, regardless of him being skinny.

Great to hear he's put on a few pounds and is still on track to enroll early. Both of those increase his chances of starting next year.

Why do people doubt that a Freshman can start for the VOLS? Don't you remember Manning, Clausen, and Ainge. They were Freshmen when they started playing for us.
