For new Tennessee Vol head coach Derek Dooley the state of Tennessee looks to be a key state in his early recruiting plan. In 2010 the Vols were able to secure the state’s best offensive lineman in four-star offensive tackle James Stone out of Maplewood High school. For 2011 the Vols are going to be putting [...]

I have a feeling his top 2 are Tennessee and LSU. He's been saying a lot of positive things about us lately to. Says he excited to see us this season.

I go to this kid's rival school and have played against him since middle school. He is a good athlete no doubt, but he is way overhyped IMO. He might surprise me, but he is defenitely not the top prospect in the state, maybe top 5 at best. I don't know much about the middle and east tennessee prospects, but I personally think that Artaves Gibson is the top prospect from West TN.

I guess the whole sec has evaluated him wrong then... Not to mention Ohio state, notre dame, cal, and usc

I'm sorry that you go to TCA and your school didn't go to the state championship last year.

Ya know, that actually doesn't have anything to do with the topic, but yea that's cool. Jabriel has always impressed at camps/combines, and I believe the coaches from the major college programs that have offered him know what they're talking about unlike you ;) but hey if you wanna tell Dooley, Saban, meyer, etc. that he's not that good be my guest.

one thing saban is VERY good at is evaluating talent. He recruits well, yes, but he also misses less.

I'm not saying that he's not good enough to go to a program like Alabama or Florida and play. I'm just saying that he probably won't come in and make a significant impact.

I believe the state has banned any coaches associated with USuCk because it will be the mob that will be waiting for them.

The kid has twenty scholarship offers already most from major programs. Could it be that you are a wee bit bias at best, jealous at worst?

I had always figured corner was his likely position in college.

Great athlete wherever he ends up.

Yes, I'll admit that I am a little bias, but I truly believe that he is not as great as everyone makes him out to be.

"Hey Coach Dooley, just wanted to let you know, even though Jabriel has offers from all the schools that mean a crap in the South, West, and North, he's not that good. Please tell all the other SEC coaches so they can save themselves a wasted scholarship. Thank you."
I think the speculation is fine, but with the list of offers and awards he's received, not to mention all the hype by the best conference in the land, we don't need a bias rival shooting him down. He IS the top player in the state 2011, just ask the whole SEC.

Tell me, did he win Mr. Football?
Didn't think so...
Did Jake Overbey win Mr. Football?
Thought so.

Haha ok that game
Does Jake have a d1 offer?-No
Did Jake make max prep soph all american?-No
Does Jabriel have over 15 d1 offers?- Yep
Did Jabriel make max prep soph all american?- Yep
What you just brought up has NOTHING to do with recruiting Jabriel, unless you still think Jabriel is being recruited as a QB.
Btw, He actually has an offer from Georgia Tech to play QB.
Nothing against Jake, I know him pretty well, but it's not even an argument whose the better PLAYER.

I am just saying that Jabriel may or may not live up to the hype. Jake is a better high school player, while Jabriel has the potential to be a good college player. But right now he did not win Mr. football, which is awarded to the best high school player in TN. He does however have the potential to be good in college. Just my opinion. Remember a guy by the name of Chris Donald? Yeah, he was expected to do all these great things and become the next Al Wilson, but look where he is now. I could be completely wrong on this, but as of right now I just would not consider Jabriel the top recruit in the state.

How do we know anyone is going to live up to their hype? Also by saying he is not the best in the state, to me is not that big of a deal. I know I still want as many people that can contribute to this team regardless of where they go to highschool. Even more so when that player has as many offers from as many big name schools as they do. Are you saying because he went to your rival high school you don't want him to play for UT?

No, not at all. I would be happy if Jabriel chose UT. I am just saying that IMO he is not the top prospect in the state. Again, it's just my opinion. A lot of people may disagree with me. I just think that he plays against inferior competition, any player with D1 talent should tear up that competition.

I agree with UTVols. I have seen Washington play and he is very impressive. However, it is against sub-par talent. IMO, he will not have a significant impact. He is very over-hyped. There have been players around WEST TN, that I have seen with way more talent and upside than Washington.

I see him as a corner/kick returner. IMO

Only time will tell. But your getting this from someone who has actually seen him play.

If hecis good enough to play at Alabama right now, then he would probably have an impact on our roster....
