One approach that Oregon utiliizes and it seems as though DD is as well, they put a premium on guys who want to be part of the program, versus guys you have to work hard for. In essence they feel these kids will buy into their system and work harder because they want to be there that much more.
For instance Pat obviously is pro UT right now, they will pay more attention to him than say somebody like Avery Walls or another high rated guy they have to work really hard for and possibly lose in the end. It's kind of a pick your battles sort of a deal.
Will be interesting to see how it works in the SEC, where recruiting is insanely competitive.
