No, it's not. "Clinton's" would be correct if we were referring to "Clinton's book," but not if the statement is "The Clinton's are corrupt." With proper nouns the apostrophe is used to show possession.
Some of us old people were taught that Clintons' was the proper usage.You have a point. Since both Clintons are screw ups, it should read: Clintons's. That's the way Strunk and White would spell it. Since kids are so sloppy and confused these days, school systems settle for "Clintons'." Thank you for your assistance.
